Dr Who Fan,

Thanks for posting the message on my behalf, on the project forum, since I'm not able to login.
Also, should Willy retire the CPU one, if it is dead?

Hi Jacob, have you tried adding the project manually in the BOINC client and creating an account that way? I'm not sure if that will work, but when I've had similar issues with other projects in the past, I've been able to create an account through the client then just log into the account on the website.

Hope this helps,
Chris

I did not try that, and don't want to try that for the time being, because I just got done setting up all my PCs. I'll try to remember to try that, the next time I revisit them. Thanks.

I just recreated my account like that. So can confirm that what Chris suggests 100% works as a workaround for the captcha!

Is it time to call in the monkeys to see if they can find goofyx...
No stats export in 10 days and counting!
I see many posts on the project website but no response from the head monkey.

After all of the non-stop attacks on him and his project, do you blame him? It surprises me when people complain so much about a project but yet continue to support it. I'm sure he will get to it when he can like always.

After goofyx apparently "fixed" the stats export the project website and server(s) have been unresponsive, frequently time out. When I was last able to access the website about 26 hours ago, I had over 100 "ghost" tasks across 5 PC's.

Not surprising with the lack of communication that this is happening.

With the lack of admin support and this apparently DEAD project, it is really time to "put a fork in the monkeys and declare them DEAD" I am done with supporting this project any further and would hope the other users join me!!!

I agree with you on that! The monkeys need to be freed from the slave labor they have endured.

The project never had been stable for long periods of time.
The project admin/ owner has been more of a spectator than anything.

Not that it matters much but I think the project has finally "jumped the shark"!
Have not been able to get the website to load for several days now. Don't know if it's time to celebrate or not.

Not, it would seem, if you're looking to declare it dead. It's back.

Those of you who are waiting it out are not missing anything!

Project apparently is on autopilot with the monkeys running the show again after goofyx restarted the project.
Past 12 or more hours I can't send or receive tasks. All I get is a strange error message after a bunch of tasks were sent out as regular running versus NCI.
7/26/2020 19:42:25 | GoofyxGrid@Home NCI | Server error: recompile needed.

Enjoy the show

Not surprising the monkeys are up to their antics again

The project recovered about 24 hour after my previous posting 5+ days ago,
The project's head fool still has not replied either here or on the projects forum pages....

Over the last several hours, most of my tasks fail to upload and / or download on the first attempt or even several hours later.
The project web pages are also unresponsive.
The server is responding with the usual message:
500 - Internal Server Error
Sorry, something went wrong

about 5 hours later.. The project appears to be working normal again. Still no message from the head monkey.

Dear Dr Who Fan.
I can't make out if you're annoyed, or if you're just having fun.
Writing so much about a disastrous project seems to carry at least some kind of affection.
Apart from breaking the work-flow, and not forgetting messing with the credits, this project does not seem to do anything bad to our systems.
Just as iThena, that happens to have some hiccups, I let Goofy run without monitoring it, because in the end it's nothing to worry about for me - it just comes and goes, and when it comes, it's fine.

Have not received any works in over 24+ hours now so I tried to load the web site...

When you point your web browser to the projects home page nci.goofyxgridathome.net you get:

Have the Monkeys or other creatures have done a hostile takeover of the project server(s)?

I think that when one considers this latest development, coupled with the complete lack of ADMIN communication, it is time to officially declare this project "DEAD"!

Yep I think it is time to RETIRE THE PROJECT, put the monkeys up for adoption to a good home once and for all... >>>

Now I am getting a message from my web browser nci.goofyxgridathome.net’s server IP address could not be found. when I try to load the web page.

Doing a whois domain check it appears to still be registered to Goofyx Solutions Krzysztof Faryna.
A Tracert shows a final destination of host100.wizjanet.pl which has a different IP address than the project site.
There are 3 web sites registered to the goofyx IP address (91 217 242 100): goofyx.pl / goofyxgridathome.net / sumpro.pl.

I have removed the project from all my BOINC clients and suggest everyone else do so also since it can't be trusted what nefarious types of communications might be attempted on a rogue IP address .
