Anyone who knows when Predictor@home will be up again? It's weird in my eyes, that a benefitting project, for all mankind, can be down, from september untill now and maybe for a long time out in the future. So does anyone know of a timeframe for the projects, according to when it plans to launch again?

I wish that I had some news, and I wish that they were back up already.

I wonder if now there has been a change in 'leadership' that this also means a change in 'direction' and thereby resulting in more delays 'til it is up and running again.

According to ROM Walton, E@H is several weeks away from 'going public' - they are waiting for the release of core client 4.5x/4.6x (no beta test phase?).

Could it also be that P@H is now also waiting for the upgrade to the new core client?

I guess it appears, it could be a while, for both E@h and P@h, if they are both waiting for core client 4.5x or 4.6x - since we are now in 4.1x (if I have understood you correct). But I guess I'll just crunch for S@h untill they reopen / open up for public support again. The good news on the other hand is that LHC is due to be up again early 2005, and this time it should have more capacity, and be able to feed us with more work. Looking forward to see LHC back again, its been a while  .

The version currently in Alpha test of the BOINC Core Client is 4.56. The jump from 4.1x to 4.5x was done because there is a major re-write of some of the code. In particular, everyone will run the CLI, with the GUI controlling the CLI. The CLI will always appear as a process and the GUI will only appear as a process if it is showing.
