We had an unfortunate database mishap. My workunit generator interface was not sending tasks to hosts. I used my backup script but it did not work. When I restored to a snapshot I lost about two weeks worth of data including some new project volunteers. I your account is gone, please join again. I am terribly sorry.

I was one of the volunteers who was deleted. I, originally, attached with BOINCstats Bam!. I tried doing so again and have had a few problems.

My original host, would not re-attach. I attached a second host as a test. I ended up with 2 Hydrogen@home accounts in the BOINC Manager for the 2nd host. I then detached both hosts with BAM! and the extra account via BOINC Manager. I then re-attached both hosts with BAM!

The second host shows in my account, the original not, and with the following error:

31/03/2008 14:58:31|Hydrogen@Home|Sending scheduler request: Requested by account manager. Requesting 0 seconds of work, reporting 0 completed tasks
31/03/2008 14:58:36|Hydrogen@Home|Scheduler request succeeded: got 0 new tasks
31/03/2008 14:58:36|Hydrogen@Home|Message from server: Invalid or missing account key. Visit this project's web site to get an account key.

Any suggestions? Need I fully detach the project through Bam! and re-attach or is this a Hydrogen@home database issue?

Yes you do. Creating a new account (even if it has the same email & password) has a different account key.
Not running BOINC anymore for several reasons...

Well... In this case, if account key and CPID equal the same... No. I've been in contact with Hydrogen@Home administration and with the help of AllProjectStats.com which is exporting Hydrogen@Home statistics for me, where I have a few, it was discovered I had 2 accounts with the exact same CPID. Bam! seems to be have, initially, connected to the newer account and not the older account until the daily synchronisation when it seems to have synchronised with the older account, after which both computers had no more access to Hydrogen@Home.

This is, of course, is only theory as BOINCstats isn't showing any Hydrogen@Home credits for me, so there is no way for me to determine if my theory is correct.

The newer account has now been deleted. Now to determine if Bam! will now align properly with old account after the next daily synchronisation. I tend to doubt it but I can always hope.

If not, then I shall attempt a total detach.

I said account key (what you use to attach), not CPID (what keeps your stats across projects synced).

Thank you. Theoretically, they were also supposed to have been the same. Likely not but it shall be determined within the next 24 hours.

Hi everybody,

I carefully read your posts, and I think I have the same problem.

But would be kind to explain in detail how to get over the message "from server: Invalid or missing account key. Visit this project's web site to get an account key."

I already did detach and re-attach, from BAM or manually. But I don't get how to check if there two accounts under my email at Hydrogen@home... Could you precise me (us) the different steps to do that.

On some host where I already follow the sequence: stop using BAM, detach Hydrogen, re-attach Hydrogen, using BAM. I got a different message: "already attached under another account".

Then could you precise if ALL hosts of a user have to be detached first, before re-attach to ONE test host?

Thx by advance.

In my case, I work with the project administrator. I ended up detaching with BAM! and then attached with the BOINC Manager under advanced for both of my computers. Once that worked, I had BAM! search for the remaining account - the duplicate having been deleted by the project administrator. It now works fine.

Hi everyone,

Sorry to push up an old post, but:
-- as I still have some hosts with the same error: "from server: Invalid or missing account key. Visit this project's web site to get an account key."
-- as I don't want to bother the administrator's site!
-- as I don't how the problem is related or not with a dual accounts problem.

I manage to resolve the problem by modifying manually the xml config file of the project.

1) Stop your boinc service or client.
2) In your Boinc directory, edit the file: account_hydrogenathome.org.xml
3) On the Hydrogen@home site, in your account, get and copy your FULL ACCESS account key
4) In the file, paste the correct account key between the <authenticator> tags
5) Save!!!
6) Restart your boinc service or client
7) Update the Hydrogen@Home project.

Works for me!

Great the stats are exporting...I got some mirroring going so I can more efficiently use bandwidth.
