December has long since gone, any news from the new PhD Student?

Any news regarding QMC export and perhaps a forum?

I've calculated a few workunits lately (the estimated time was hugely underestimated BTW) and noticed that my credit on BOINCstats is outdated by a year or so. Does anyone know if QMC is exporting the recent data anywhere, and if so, where's the problem and why is BOINCstats data so far behind?

QMC has not exported stats and has not had a forum since the project resumed at it's new URL almost a year ago.

It has been quite a long time since any one has heard from the main project administrator/scientist, Martin Korth.

You can find Korth's email address listed on the QMC web site on the contacts link if you want to drop him a short message inquiring about the status of the project and export of stats.

BoincStats can not import stats that do not exist/are not available from the QMC server.

Can we get Willy to retire QMC then?

3% in over 4 hours, no checkpoints at all, after restart - 0%. I don't understand these few projects like Beal, Slinca, RNA World and QMC that just waste CPU time. If it counts for just some hours, then OK, but when it needs a week or even month to count... They think maybe that everybody has uninterrupted servers that run forever.

I wrote QMC a message regarding checkpoints and team management that is completely broken.

That's strange - The 3 WUs I've completed also had rather long runtimes (almost no chance make it within deadline) and took hours to move by just 1%, but checkpointing did work (by those percent units), and the WU was done when it reached 5-12%.

Martin answered me. They are working on teams. Also about checkpoints, he told me that they are saved inside WU and client may not see them, so it looks like it is counting from beginning and then progress may suddenly jump to 100%. For now I'm counting for 21 hours in line and progress is 23%. No checkpoints seen in client. He told that they would also try to fix this.

Any word on when they might start exporting stats again?

Dr. Korth informed me that stats will be exported when the project is "officially released".

Martin informed me that he hopes to get some time in august or september to fix all issues (new forum, merging different hosts etc).

He said already in July 2013 that forum etc. would be up in September (2013), let´s wait and see (and hope)
