Great! Can it please be added to stats and BAM?

They have no stats-XML yet, at least not in the common place.

Subject : RND@home statistics

Hello Nightbird:

After checking that the credit system of RND@home works OK, we are begun
to export our credit statistics. They can be obtained as XML files from
http://arcoboinc.unex.es/rnd/stats/. Please, if it is possible, inform
in your fora about this. Thanks in advance.

Best regards.

Miguel.-

Another mail from Miguel Angel:
Hello Uwe:

Thanks for your e-mail.

Please, if it is possible, inform me: Which are the technical requirements
for a BOINC project in order to be ready for an Account Management System
(like BAM! or Gridrepublic)? Your answer is important for us in order to
verify that we fulfill all these requirements.

Best regards, and thanks in advance.

Miguel.-

Does anybody know anything about this?
I'm just the translator for German and a plain user, I can't really help him (of necessary at all).

Having server code newer than January 2005, and not doing particularly stupid stuff with the URLs like http://cleanenergy.harvard.edu/go/.

Enabling results and message boards would be a good start.

At a minimum, there should be a link to send a message to the admin.

There was one 24 hours ago... It was an email link at the very bottom of the front page. Now it's gone.

I emailed with some issues (0:00:00 time to completion estimates and my experience that the science app doesn't stop when you suspend it).

It seems to be open to account creation. Even through BAM.

You need an invite code to register on the website, and I dont see anything in BAM! for imp

Back on topic, i.e. RND:

I've got 10 WUs running in parallel on my C2D, they simply don't stop, not even if I say so manually to the WU.
That's not a fine behaviour, I'd like them to have a forum, to discuss such stuff, as this is very alpha behaviour, where fast responses from the admins would be required.

I'll write to them in mail again, I hope they come here (or to some other open forum) quite fast, I would not recommend this project to unattended puters atm.

I pointed that out to them in my last email to them. And I never heard back. I don't know if that means they don't care or they're fixing it. I hope they're fixing it.

But I can't run a project that doesn't give up the CPU when I tell it to. And if it doesn't do it when I tell it to, I seriously doubt that it's going to do it when BOINC's CPU scheduler tells it to.

Ive been running them on 2 of my comps for the past few days... they still have problems. While I havent see multible WUs running at once, I have seen them only prograss 8% in a few days with tomorrow being the deadline. no way will all 20 or more WUs be compleated by then . The 2 comps are P4 ~ 3.2GHz

I have tried running RND on 32 it windows machines without success. Many hours/days wasted. I have tried running RND on 64 bit linux machines (AMD X2) with some limited success. Again, many hours/days, and only some seem to get credit. Impossible to tell for sure, since they have disabled viewing results (grrrr!). Additionally, they have no message boards to ask questions or provide feedback.

I sent up some completed WUs, but since no credit was granted and the results are disabled, I don't know if they were good or not. Or, if there was a problem?

Edited:

They took around 24 hours to complete.

Hi All: I was finally able to download 10 wu after weeks of trying - 2 completed with computational errors at the last seconds after over 3 hours each - I sent them in and then detached from the project (over 7 hours wasted).

I wrote to them an email sept.14 asking about the initial replication and quorum, about the message board, problems with Windows (and even Linux), the disabled results page.

No answer.

Since nothing has been improved or setup since, I guess that they are happy with 24 (or less) active users. (see stats).

I detached my machine from this pre-pre-alpha project which doesn't be interested to get more active users.

They don't care.

And they don't have forums to report it on.
Not running BOINC anymore for several reasons...
