Why should stats be published of a non-public project where you need an invite code to attach.
Only teams with their teamcaptains joined automatically due to importing the data by the project.

Only some teams have more than 1 member, most of them German:
Rechenkraft.net (31), Nordlichter (3), BOINC@Heidelberg (3), SETI.Germany (5) and BOINC Synergy (2).

But the stats for other 'closed alpha test' projects like BRaTS for example are shown, too!
So why shouldn't these be added? They're doing even scientific work already (no dummy apps)!

Exactly. Publish all projects that export stats, and let the users decide. I'll go further and say that all projects should be in BAM, even those not publishing stats. So that BAM users can manage their accounts properly. It kinda defeats the purpose of BAM, if you still have to use a mixed model of BAM + manually attaching/managing. IMO, of course.

How about project owners that want to stay "hidden" for some time?

Hi Cori,
You only quoted the 1st sentence of my post.
Nothing wrong with publishing stats of meanwhile closed projects.
As far as I know information of RNA World was not published in the BOINC world, but only in the (respectable) RKN-world.
At least other BOINC-ers should have had a chance to join the project before closing. It never was really open for others.

Cheers,
CP

maybe I have misunderstood your posting. RNA World is still in a closed (alpha- or beta-?)test and will be open to the public soon (at least to my information).

the project was presented at the BOINC Workshop 2009 in Barcelona.

Closed Project that never was open:
Folding-BOINC-Betatest
BOINC-Alpha

Closed projects, that intend to be open once they are fit for more participants:
DynaPing
DrugDiscovery
Hydrogen
BRaTS
and now RNA

Projects, that started closed, but are now open and have been here even in closed times:
Einstein
malariacontrol.net
ABC-beta
Docking
Cosmology
Milky-Way
and probably more that I just don't remember any more

Then they shouldn't export stats. Or are you talking about by BAM comment? For that, they can turn off account creation, if they don't want new users joining. I can't think of a reason to try to remain "secret". And I am not even sure it's possible. Particularly since the team import functionality, plus the ability to google for certain terms.

Starting hidden is imho something projects with enough testers in it's surrounding (team, institute, company) should do at least as long as UpperCase is used.
Of course it can't be helped to get known nowadays, too many people look for new hidden projects, but a password for access to the page will help quite good (and RNA had done this).
Testing the XML is imho part of the testing, and can be done hidden as well, as long as some friendly stats provider won't spoil the milk. Willy had access to the stats since quite some time.
Team import has to be initiated by the project, it's not default.

Dynaping is open again since 2 days until the number of 125 users is reached.
The invite code is public published on the BOINCstats site.

That's not real open, that's the same as malaria did. It's fine, but not open.

It has been there for some few hours in the open, it's still there hidden.
Went something wrong or was it your decision to keep it hidden?
