Is there some more information on this project somewhere? Looking at their website, they claim to be based at both NASA and George Mason University, and have no other information on who the researchers are and what they hope to accomplish. I would think that a legitimate project, running at EITHER a university or NASA (especially both) could afford a domain or subdomain, and to Copyright © 2013 REPLACE WITH COPYRIGHT HOLDER". I call "sketch" on this project.

I did a reverse look-up of the IP address listed in the project link. It traces to a computer somewhere at George Mason University.
If there is NASA involvement in the project, I did NOT see any LINKS supporting that statement to be found on the project web site. Only mention of NASA is on the front page.

The project does not have stats exporting according to Message post #66 and no reply from the project administrator(s) when or if they will begin to do so:
I see that the stats directory is empty.

When will stats be exported?

Just because the rDNS shows the server as being at GMU, doesn't mean it's an official project... It could be anyone in a dorm. When I was in college, the room phone even showed up on Caller ID as being from the university.

Exactly the point I was trying to make.

I think the stats may be imported and published.

Stats are exported at least once a day now and seen the discussion in this thread the admin allows to publish them.

I have found a article on NASA own website however the article itself is 3 years old. http://www.nasa.gov/offices/ocio/ittalk/08-2010_climate.html
So I have no idea on the validity of the project.
