http://www.nano-hive.org/atHome/

This project is about simulating nano machine for various proposes , such as medicine , energy , etc.
Its in beta state and the account creation is closed.

I think is the project with the most cool screensaver.

Yeah, screensaver is nice but CPDN has still superior screensaver :-)

Really cool project, I agree the screensaver looks really neat. You get to see the simulation unfold as everyone crunches it! And it looks like this will be in public beta phase sometime this month. Can't wait

got this in my email today

Hello,
NanoHive@Home (NHAH) is opening enrollment for beta testing today at 18:00 UTC.
Even though we're still preparing the beta test work and clients, several
participants have requested that they be able to attach to NHAH now so that when
work is available they can immediately begin crunching.

NanoHive@Home is a distributed computing system used to simulate large-scale
nanotech systems that draws its computing power from otherwise idle computers
sitting in people's homes. The goal of NanoHive@Home is to accurately simulate
nanosystems too large to be calculated via normal means, and thereby enable
further scientific study in the field of nanotechnology.

** Please note the following **
* NHAH is currently in beta testing. That means there are bugs, both known and
unknown. By participating in our beta test, you'll help us find and fix the
remaining bugs and optimize the system.
* The URL of NHAH has changed. If you were a beta tester during the closed
rounds of testing, you'll need to detach, then re-attach to
http://www.nanohive-1.org/atHome/ with the same login information (the database
is the same.)
* NHAH work and clients will be uploaded next week.

Visit http://www.nanohive-1.org/atHome/getting_started.php to learn about System
Requirements, Project Characteristics, and Beta Testing Guidelines.

Visit http://www.nanohive-1.org/atHome/ to learn more.

Thank-you,

--Brian.

I'm really sorry guys, but I'm in Geneva at the moment for the 2nd Pan-Galactic BOINC workshop and I don't have access to my tools here (restricted network). This means I can't change the URL in BAM right now. Please be patient, I'll do it a.s.a.p..

The LHC guys are here, and I asked, the URL has not changed, just the IP.

Well, the URL on their front page has changed, so that's causing the confusion. Both URL's seem to work though.

I think it's confusing because both URLs seem to work for the website. But the old URL works definitely NOT for attaching to LHC, I tried it by accident.

I have never changed anything on my puter, always was attached to LHC, and it just started to DL some WUs yesterday. Didn't change the URL inbetween.

BUT:
This is far off topic in the nano-hive thread

Back on-topic then:

Changing the URL right away will cause problems for some users. They are already attached to Nano on some hosts, and these host are attached to the old URL.

If I change the URL, thses host won't be able to attach to the new URL, because they already have a project with that name, so they refuse. They have to be detached first.

I updated the BAM DB, and these host should all detach on the next connection, I update the URL tonight.

why does bam detach me from nano-hive@home even though i have just attached myself today through boinc manager using their updated url?

Because if you are attached to BAM! you should use BAM! to attach to NHaH, not the BOINC Manager.

for information:

NanoHive@Home is "dead".. the project has closed.

Watch NHAH-HP: http://www.nanohive-1.org/

Quote of Brians answer to my email about the possible future of these project:

"Hi ,
Yes, sad to say, NHAH is dead. I no longer work at Nanorex and they have no interest in keeping it alive, so it's over.

Best regards,
--Brian."

I really liked Nanohive, sorry to see it go.

Can we archive the stats or something? I see they've disappeared from BOINCstats altogether.

Too bad, I had hoped for a return of Nano-Hive, and now it's gone. *sniff sniff*

Would be good to keep a snapshot of the stats. Even though I didn't crunch very much there...

Uhm.... You all know that these projects are in the "retired project" section of the menu. When did I ever delete stats from dead projects?

Well one of us (probably me to be fair) is losing the plot a bit, because I can't see a retired project section. I can't see one for pPot tables either. I can only see my credits for pPot and Nanohive on my detailed stats, but the credits are missing from my host stats.

When a project is retired it's credit is no longer updated for the hosts. It is for users, teams and countries.

The host table is already really really (really really) big and the host update takes over 6 hours. Therefor hosts stats are somewhat limited compared to the other stats. Another reason is that hosts change their CPID more ofter and after a while there are hosts in the stats from retired projects which are long dead, but still there. So, in all my wisdom (cough cough) I have decided not to include retired projects in the BOINC combined stats.

If you have no retired projects in your menu then I suggest you explore your BAM! menu and find all the goodies in there

How do you detach a retired project from the client where it is no longer listed as a project in BAM?

I found the retired projects check box eventually.

I understand where you're coming from with the host stats. How do you compute them though? A host table per project and then a combined table from all the individual projects? I'm just trying to figure out if there's a more efficient way of doing it for you.
