For these four projects, I cannot create accounts using BAM! or going to their website since the first three need an invitation code and the last one says it is closed for account creation. I tried to do some searches on their forums but to dice. Does anyone know who I can email for getting the right invitation codes or being let in to the closed project?

Invitation:

  • Beauty@LHC
  • Climateprediction.net Beta
  • Pirates@Home

Closed:

  • Najmanovich Research Group

Thanks
Tuna

Well, did you have a look on the stats of NRG? They did not have work for quite a while and the stats are almost a half year old. In the forum there is a hint that it would be coming back, but it didn't (yet). So actually it's dead(,Jim)...

As for the rest, I don't know, it's news to me that Pirates now need an invitation code, I joined in their early days where they didn't have one.
However, they have rarely work and are often down also.
Maybe you can ask over at the LHC forums for Beauty@LHC.
As for CPDN Beta, I was there in their early days also, but the apps are/were highly experimental and often crashed - babysitting was necessary most of the time. I don't know if it is still so (I didn't created a new account after a project reset) but if you really want to join you probably need good nerves. ;-)

AFAIK, you don't need an invitation for CPDN, did you try to sign up at their website or just through the BOINC client?

As far as Pirates@Home is concerned, personally I consider it to be a NON BOINC project and as such, it should not be listed here in BOINCStats.. By their own admission they only run work units once or twice a year and when they do the Work Units do nothing, it has no purpose. I questioned its legitimacy and I got no answer from the Admins. Accordingly I have deleted it from the Official Boinc Known Project Lists and I recommended that it be deleted from here also. They say that it is considered to be a fun project for points only. Are we not having fun by supporting legitimate BOINC projects that have a purpose.? For all I know, they exist only to collect your email address and give you some points for it. I point out that this is only my opinion based on research. If others think otherwise and do not support me in removing this project from BOINC than it will remain as MY opinion only.

When I recently asked one of the mods over at CPDN about whom to speak to about getting an invite for the BETA project, I pretty much just got a No s@#t Sherlock response. Yes I was already aware that they would want someone willing to be active and actually test. Yes I know they don't have open enrollment or else I wouldn't be asking about how to get a code. Yes I also understand that very few have any inkling on when it will be opened back up. How about giving some helpful information and actually answer the F'ing question...
