I have made a post on Google earth showing boinc project campuses (thanks to Christian), a list of users near their hometown (picked at random) & a list of teams.

it can be found at the following

http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/showflat.php?Ca...vc=1#Post359963

Either use this post or the GE if you want to be included on the post.

there's also the Google Earth Placemarks for BOINC Projects over at SETI
there's a dedicated URL on the authors page so you can add a "network link" in GE

thank you lee, I asked Christian's permission to use his placemarks in my post.

Update 31 March 06

I now have 400+ users listed. I went through the forums on the following sites:
boincstats
boincsynergy
Sar-hessen.de
boinc-team.de
Burp

I have added locations for Primegrid and the HashClash campus. Looking to create a path for pirates which will travel the high seas. Arrh
Changed some details for the Ligo observatories (thanks to Wormholio)

There are still only 2 teams listed. come on team admins.

There are a few other slight improvements which are ongoing.

The locations for all users are placed in open space, rivers, parks etc, except where users have given locations ie Misfit, es99, Hev, povaddict, ping2weltall, rytis and myself.

If I'm not mistaken then you placed a placemark where the Primegrid server is located. You can add a placemark at the exact same location for the BOINCstats servers.

And you missed my house (which is perfectly visible in Google Earth) by a couple of kilometers

update 3. 7 April 2006.

What did i do this week? nothing much until I went to work this morning and spent most of the day viewing GE and doing some upates for the post.

The biggest thing this week was on the pirates forum.

anyways, what i did-

added
projects - Pirates@home and malariacontrol.net.
projects to add - uFluids, Xtremelab, orbit, WCG

users. not many - those who asked, raven (location to be changed to local pub), KSMarksPsych, Dr Bill, Wormholio (many thanks for advice), Mchl and his file on Boinc@poland members.
Raided forums (fora) of pirates, boinc@australia, never got finsh list from Boincsynergy (sorry next week)

Teams.
Boinc@Heidelberg
Boinc@Poland
sar-Hessen

The biggest update of all was when you click on a project folder, a liitle brief of each project appears.

Thanks again to Wormholio, and bigger thanks to Mchl for giving location of Parkes oberservatory in Australia for SETI and position of Open university in Climate predicton.
