My WCG account has a different username, as the one I use for all other projects was already taken. However the e-mail is the same, WCG wants one to login using the username, unlike other BOINC projects. Would it be possible to sign-up to a project through BAM by whatever other means a project requires?

Interestingly enough, BOINCstats is smart enough to figure out the different user-names I use in other BOINC projects and in WCG by itself...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is probably possible because of the common CPID. If so, can't it be used somehow to log on WCG through BAM? I understand that the ball is really on WCG's court though...

Thanks.

WCG doesn't accept input (commands) from BAM! yet. It's a WCG issue, that will probably be solved someday (hi Kevin )

BAM! is prepared to support WCG by using a username+password to identify the user, but my hope is they will support the authenticator as that simplifies things (hi again ).

The real problem is the uniqueness of the usernames. A username in BAM! is unique, as it is in WCG. What to do when your username in WCG is already taken in BAM! (or the other way around).

Hi,

anything new on this?

I have the same problem - my username is already taken in WCG, so i manually created an account (using the same email/password) and added the project without BAM to my PC.
Now the first WU has finished and was reported.

As I expected after reading here, when I look into my detailed stats, both usernames are mentioned now for me, and the WCG-score is in there, too.

Anyway, I still cannot get the project into BAM - it's not in the project list / resources so I can't deploy it to other PC's.

On "sign-up" I still get "password error", of course, because I can't tell BAM to use the other username, even if BAM seemingly knows about it...

BTW, in my Host List WCG is missing for the PC, too. I have to click on the CPID to see that there is another project beneath the BAM-registered ones.

So, how can I get this together now? Or do I really have to use WCG manually?

TIA!

Hi,
So, how can I get this together now?
Or do I really have to use WCG manually?

looks like manually.

I just tried it again, and the behaviour is still the same.

I saw a post on WCG saying it'll take some time.

But I agree, some more integration between bam and the normal stats looks possible.
I assume the data basis is not the same (data from the account manager and the statistice from the projects). So the link might be hard to do

I'm having a similar problem:
http://www.boincstats.com/forum/forum_thread.php?id=1953

World Community Grid project I believe originally used a different setup where the Username may not be what your Username is for the other projects. This is the case with my account.

What's strange is it shows up in some of my stats, bot the more recent, but in Sign-up for projects in the My BAM menu, if shows it's not connected as Wrong Password, and it is not listed in my Project List. However, it does show up in My detailed stats.

How can I get the \"Sign-up for projects\" in the menu show that it is connected. Right now it consistantly showing \"Wrong Passowrd\" and have it listed in my \"Project List\".

Your WCG username needs to be identical to your BAM! username, nothing else works.

Stats are not related to your BAM! account, other than that BAM! tries to link to your stats by using the CPID.

This is weird. I do have the problem that if I click, it says invalide username. But that's not really a problem for me, I log-in and that's it, my stats are still compilated.

But there is one thing that bother me.

I have Boinc running and WCG client, both computing task for WCG (and others for Boinc). boinc submited results for an average of 148 total (for all 6 projects) while WCG client submited 1 big project for 1500 points. When I go at WCG page, I have all points combined, if I check here, I only have points made through Boinc (even if other project like folding@home don't have that problem, since I'm running the client and project on both of them client).

WCG only exports BOINC stats, BOINC style. Any points earned with the UD client are not exported in the same manner.

Also, there is a 1 to 7 ratio between BOINC points and WCG points. So your points will look 7x on WCG, compared to your points on BOINCStats.

I believe that I found out how to work around this issue. This is what I did:

- Changed my BAM username to match that in WCG (the password already matched).
- Added WCG to BAM.
- Changed my BAM username back to "Augustine".
- Voi la!

Now I can attach hosts to WCG through BAM without having to use the same username as in WCG, as "Augustine" is already taken there.
