On the page that lists "My projects", it says the following note:
A project can only be removed when there are no hosts attached to the project and when the project is not retired.

Well, I'm trying to remove PrimeGrid from My projects, and I've detached it from all the hosts, and have set it to not Default Attach
... yet I don't see how I can remove the project!

Is removing the project supported? If yes, how? If no, then why is the note there?

PS:
The reason I'm trying to remove the project, is because PrimeGrid gives this error when attaching via BAM!:
5/5/2020 12:01:15 AM | PrimeGrid | Invalid or missing account key. To fix, remove and add this project .
... That's probably a separate issue.

Make sure you use the same username and password in BAM! and all the projects you have crunched for.
If you see PrimeGrid in https://www.boincstats.com/bam/signup/ : use the Sign-up or Find Account button.
If you see PrimeGrid in https://www.boincstats.com/bam/projects/ : The button Show hosts should show the hosts currently attached.
If you used BAM! to change some projects on a host (detach / attach, no new work, ...) those changes will be performed on the host the next time the host communicates with BAM! .
In https://www.boincstats.com/bam/settings/ you can see how often your hosts sync with BAM!
You can use the BOINC manager locally on the host to manually start the sync with BAM!, it's somewhere in the menu. Maybe you need to activate BAM! as accountmanager, that's also somewhere in the menu.

This is still a problem. Can Willy or BAM! devs fix it?

TeeVeeEss:
Can you please test to see that you can remove a project from My Projects? If so, is there some sort of "Remove" button somewhere, that actually works?
I bet you will have the same problem.

Here's the results of your suggestions:

1: Definitely the same.
2: The project I'm trying to remove from My Projects is already one of My Projects, so it doesn't show on the signup page, because I had added it to BAM! a long time ago..
3: There are no hosts attached. Even per the hosts button for that project on my Projects.
4/5/6: I know. My hosts are set to connect every 24 hours, but I was using Tools > Synchronize to immediately sync.

AFAIK once you crunched for a project it can't be removed from your stats. The message in the page about removing a project is somewhat misleading, I agree.
Did you try to reinstall BOINC (or remove BAM! and add it again as accountmanager) on the host that gives the Primegrid error in the logs?
