Hi Willy

would be nice to have the option for BOINCstats to remember me and keep me logged in, I hate having to type my username & password to log on

Edit: PS when you get time

Firefox has a nice feature to remember that information. You can choose to not remember as well. Plus tabbed browsing, and many other features. You can't beat it.

Not what I have asked for, if I wanted Firefox I would download it so no point trying to sell it to me. It doesn't work correctly for me any way.

So the option I have asked for still stands for when Willy has the time to make an adjustment

I Also thought the same thing as UBT - Halifax--lad, As I use Avant Browser/IE6 which does remember your User ID, Its the fact of having to stop, Click on the box, Type the first letter into the Id Box (To pull the saved ID up) Select it, THen goto the Password box, ANd then have to type it in and hit enter. Im sure there are many other issues that are far more important than this one, But, I can honestly say that each time I click my favorites to come to the site, That does cross my mind(Having to key the info in again). Wow, Does that sure make me look lazy !

I know it has been a year since I used IE but it seems that I can remember saving login info using that browser almost the same as I do now with FF. But then the memory goes with age so what do i know.

UBT, it might be worth checking out FireFox again if you have not done so in a while. There have been some updates lately. It's now at version 1.5.0.3 and your issues with it may have gone away.
No pressure, really, just pasing info

And your suggestion is still a good one, not trying to imply otherwise.

Yea it does to a certain extent. I have never really figured it out, As it will work on some sites, But not at all on others. Plus as I said earlier, It doesn't remember my password each time I try to login at the main page here either.

As another point on this issue, the forum software DOES remember who I am from session to session. Seems like the main site (including BAM) should be able to as well, both for ease of use AND consistency.

I agree...just type your username and password and check the "remember me" box and, BAM (no pun intended...just my Emeril Lagasse impression. ), remembered on every visit unless I log out.

But I also agree with the shout to Willy on giving us the fantastic features on this site already!!

You can now select to stay logged in.

When you click logout, this also removes the permanent login, so if you want to stay logged in, never click logout.

For me the "stay logged in" button stopped working (when the switch to the new forum SW was done?). I can see several cookies created when I push it. But it works (like a session cookie) only until I unload firefox. Next time I'm asked again despite the cookies.

Same here, it's never worked for me since either the password option was turned on or the forum software changed (these both happened close to each other and I'm not sure when "stay logged in" broke for me).

Tried it on 4 different PCs and two different browsers.

The new forum had nothing to do with logging in. The forum code is actualy changed to accept the login credentials from BAM!.

I did however change the code for staying logged in, because some people use this feature on multiple systems, then change their password and the login then fails on the other system. This is now solved.

Please logout of BAM!, then delete all cookies from BOINCstats/BAM! (all of them!), and try the feature again. If it still doesn't work, send me an email at 'bam at boincstats dot com' with the cookies BOINCstats has set and the contents of the cookies.

Willy. I tried clearing cookies (I use the latest version of Firefox on XP SP2). But I don't know where to begin trying to find the information that you are requesting. Could you post details or email me at KSMarksPsych at hotmail dot com.
