I added ODLK to almost all my hosts yesterday, manually. And today, it became available as a project to be added on BOINCstats, so I added it to MyProjects and checked ATTACH for all the hosts it was already running on. And, those hosts already did their AcctMgrSync with these settings. Yet, when I go into project Properties for ODLK under the Projects tab of the BOINCMgr app, it does NOT have the "Added via Account Manager = YES" line.

I suppose that makes sense since I have originally added it manually. However, it also doesn't seem to reflect the intent, i.e. "Managed via Account Manager" that I would have thought would be implied by "Added via Account Manager". Would this state of things have any adverse effects in the future, like when the project retires or URLs change or whatever else BAM manages on my hosts, BAM won't be able to make the relevant changes on my hosts for ODLK? Should I manually DETACH from those projects, and then use BAM to ATTACH again? That almost seems too unnecessary and complicated...

Is that "Added via Account Manager" setting even under BAM's control?

Thanks
Tuna

You could try to detach one of your hosts from ODLK using BAM!. If that works, the host was obviously managed by BAM! If not, I guess you do need to detach manually and after that use BAM! to attach.

Sadly, detaching from BAM and then forcing an AcctMgrSync in BOINCMgr app did nothing. So sad...

Seems BAM is able to report things like the remaining work and manage misc state of things like suspended/no new tasks/etc. (both reading the manual setting from the host and sending a new setting to the host), but CANNOT change the attached/detached state of the project.

I wonder if that is by design in the BOINCMgr given the lack of the "Added via Account Manager = YES", or something Willy is preventing himself from doing in the code...

Willy?

Wait, what? Just now it became "Added via Account Manager = YES"... I didn't REMOVE it manually at all. There is some weird delayed action happening. Either that, or Willy just now fixed something.

Willy!!!! I figured it out!

No amount of sync etc. would set the "Added via Account Manager = YES".

However, I changed it to SUSPEND=YES in BAM for one of my hosts while still keeping ATTACH=YES on BAM and also manually attached on the host, then forced an AcctMgrSync on that host, and then booom! The host got both the Suspend setting and "Added via Account Manager = YES".

So, it seems like you are the one setting that setting, no? But you don't force that setting during Attach/Detach if the project was attached before BAM started managing it for the host, either by design or by mistake. If so, I think you should stop being so kind and turn that on as soon as someone adds a project into their MyProjects.
