I have BOINC spread out all over my company and would like to use BAM for stats. Is there a way that I wouldn't have to visit all the desktops to tell BOINC that there is an account manager being used?

I guess what I'd like is that I could log onto my MASTER BOINC machine, tell it that I'm using BAM and then have BAM "figure out" that have have X machines running on Y projects (same ID).

Possible? Probable?

Thanks for the already great work!

If you have remote control allowed ( remote_hosts.cfg with an IP address accepted by BOINC machine), you can try to connect to each using your Master BOINC machine via BOINC manager and attach each to BAM!
This should be possible.

You can try to manually copy acct_mgr_login.xml and acct_mgr_url.xml from a machine already attached to BAM!
I'm not sure it will not mess things up as I haven't tested.
This should be probable.

Hope it helps...

I've tried copying those two acct_mgr files before and the new host ended up taking on the host ID of the original in BAM! and messed things up. I had to detach/reattach the original host to get the host IDs to be unique.

In the end, I found the easiest way was to use BoincView - this let me attach all hosts to BAM! in one go.

Thanks for the advice. I'll give BoincView a try and if that doesn't cut it, I'll lig onto each Boinc box thru BoincManager.

Thanks again
