Any chance of adding these new options to the Resources page, so that a project could be set to No New Work, or Delayed Detach, on all hosts at once?

Also, does this fix the problem of BAM turning off No New Work unexpectedly that was reported in the bug forum?

I can't see "no new work" and "delayed detach" in the configuration in the host list. But a few days ago i saw already. Is there a problem with this feature? Was it disabled?

I made a stupid mistake by mixing up version of that script. Will have to add it again

Restored the functionality.

sorry, but i don't see the functionality, i know it wasn't available on client 5.8.15, but was on clients with 5.8.16, i did look under some of my clients but functionality i dont see, do i need to enable somewhere?

edit i saw your post in bam changes, i see it isnt under 5.8.16 but 5.9.x ok.

My host has version of 5.9.3 and I also don't see the options

Is is sensitive to the client version at all? Imho it should not be.

Is anyone having difficulty with the NNW setting?

I cant always get my clients to take the NNW setting for a project, or if they do take it, it seems to loose its affect if i change the hosts projects...

take my host 43830. This has had NNW set on SETI. The client picked it up and dutifully stopped requesting work.

This morning, I have added SAP to that host (in anticipation of their next round of results!) and the SETI NNW is no longer showing on the client. It is still set in BAM and i have unset it and reset it but the client still shows that it will request new work from SETI.

any ideas?

Sounds like a client side bug, will relay it to the devs.

Yeah i already had the project setup and just added it to that host via the 'Hosts list' page in BAM. The new project attached fine and is requesting work.

I have now also set delayed detach for Rosetta and ABC on that host but those dont appear to be taking affect either... (or at least it is not showing on the client..)

I have taken a quick look at the client_state and the dont_request_more_work flag is not sent against the projects.... It is set correctly if i manually NNW the project...

I noticied that the new options No more work and Delayed dettach work fine, only if they are accompained with a share ressources changement for the project concerned.

If not, tick or not these new options do nothing.

May be it's normal, but it seems to me a little bit strange

It would be nice to have delayed detach in the "Show hosts per project" page too.

There is 2 main type of presentaton:
- hosts in projects
- projects in hosts
- hosts in resources

it will be good to have "no new tasks" and "delayed detach" options in all places, where now we can simply attach and detach hosts.

Any news on adding delayed detach to the Resources page? I'd almost like it to replace the "Detach all hosts" column, but I guess some people might have a use for an immediate detach, without depleting work first.

Hi Willy. Any new news on this? Trying to set NNW, or delayed attach, one machine at a time is incredibly time consuming with lots of machines. We need the Resources -> Show Hosts (for a project) page to also include the NNW and delayed detach columns too.

With Paul's long list of requests, it reminded me of this. Any chance we can get this soon? What I picture is a table, for a project, with rows of machines and check boxes. Also, a way to select/deselect all would be appreciated too. Thanks!

Compared to the age of this topic, the feature was added fairly recently... If you click on "Show Hosts" for one of your projects in the resources section, you will get a listing of your hosts, and check boxes for No New Work, Attach and Delayed Detach.

I'm asking in this thread because the subject is the same, more or less.
I'm trying to configure work preferences with bam; I've set "No new work" for some projects on the host's list. Saved and forced boinc communication with bam (atm i'm working on the machine I'm trying to manage with bam); only to find that nothing has changed (at least nothing visible: the Projects tab in BOINC has still all the projects without the "no new work" label)

Of course, I have attached to all projects with bam and also the preferences (processor usage, memory and network) are managed through bam (and those work!)

Any suggestion? Should I patiently wait or something isn't working?
