Hi,

I've been using BOINC for a while, though I'm new to BAM.

I used the "Sign-up for projects" to sign-up to Docking@Home. However, once Docking was attached to my client and it tried to get work, I received a message saying "Charmm 34a2 is not available for my type of computer". This is correct, according to their website, that version is only for Windows and Linux. As I'm on an (Intel) iMac, I need a different version of the application (which is available).

Anyone have any idea where the problem lies?

Thanks,

Paul C.

Docking@Home does have the "Charmm" application available for Intel Macs. However with BOINC each named application has its own set of work units. The message you got indicates at that time the only work units available were for the "Charmm 34a2" application. You would need to check the message boards at Docking to find out if they are still releasing work for the Charmm application, otherwise you may need to find another project that is currently offering work for Macs.

BAM! doesn't download applications, your BOINC manager does.
Please do not PM, IM or email me for support (they will go unread/ignored). Use the forum for support.

I'm sorry, but there are no app for Macs right now on Docking - those you see on their website are old test applications not in use ATM

I remember a thread there saying there were no date to release a working app to Macs (intel or PPC)

Cheers

No problem, that's how it's supposed to work. It's just telling you that there is no work available for your OS and processor. If you get this message, it hasn't downloaded any workunits.
