I have my preferences in BOINC stats set to the way I want all computers participating in my "boinc computing network" to run. However, after synchronizing each client, I have noticed that the preferred preferences have not changed. How to fix this?

Are you using local preferences (in BOINC manager)? They override the online ones (which are set by BAM!).

The issue was that I didn't have the preferences name set to home, school, or work. I left it the default.

There are two places to look:
  • After a restart of BOINC (or reboot), there will be a line like
    Code:
    15/07/2011 14:07:38||Reading preferences override file
    in your Messages tab/BOINC event log.
  • In your BOINC data directory, there'll be a file named global_prefs_override.xml

if you are using local preferences.

Gruß,
Gundolf
[edit]To stop using local preferences, either delete the file or press the Clear button in the BOINC manager preferences window.[/edit]
