Hi Forum,

Newbie here so please forgive the dumb questions !

I signed up to BAM and proceeded to connect to projects.

I now see I have too many projects to properly manage - 8 in all.
I'd like to remove 6 of them.

So, I removed them in my BAM account but there still present on my machine.
It seems they still 'command' a share of processing time.

How do I get rid of the unwanted projects ?

Many thanks

semper-linux.

Use your BAM!-hostlist. Click on the name or number of the host from which you want to remove the projects. Tick/untick the project you want to add or delete.
On the host: use the BOINC-manager to update BAM! (Menu, Update Project-manager) and the changes in projects will be made.
Please use the BAM!-part of the forum to discuss further questions about BAM!

Hi Forum,

Thanks for the reply TeeVeeEss.

I've tried that but no change.

The Bam part is fine - I deleted the projects and am now down to 2 - just as I want.

I've tried 'Updating' on the host but no difference - all the projects are still there.

Am I missing something ?

Many thanks,

semper-linux.

semper-linux; In the BOINC Manager, under "Tools"; select "Synchronize with BOINCstats BAM!". As long as you unticked the projects for that host in the hostlist, they should disappear.

Hi Forum,

Thanks for the reply Dan United.

I've tried that as well - gave it another try but no difference - all 8 projects still listed on the host.

I thought that should have worked but no go.

Bit of a mystery this one.

Thanks for the input.

Are you sure that you removed the check from the "Attach?" box on the host details page?

Did you try the "delayed detach"?

Is the date on "Last contacted BAM" column (on host list) accurate? I mean, maybe the host you are seeing here on BAM! is obsolete and is no longer linked to your computer...

Hi Forum,

Thanks for the replies Jahn and Nvgnte.

Jahn - there is no problem on the BAM side - the 2 wanted projects are listed correctly. The ones I didn't want cleared out no problem.

Nvgnte - the date is absolutely correct - todays' date - I'm currently running Milkyway @ home tasks.

I have only ever shut down the BOINC page - haven't done a 'File / Close' as I'm not sure what that might do to the CPID / accumulated points.
Anybody clear that up for me ?

Many thanks,

semper-linux

Hi [again] semper-linux

BoincStats only gathers statistics exported by the different boinc projects, it does not create nor modified them in any way, so as long as you keep the same name, email, password... on every proyect you've signed up (if you did it all through the BAM menu Sign-up for projects this is done automatically) you won't have CPid problems - and your credits will of course stay yours!

And as for the "little problem" above, try to detach from BAM on the BoincManager and reattach again... (I don't know what more to say, as it should work the way explained earlier)

Cheers

And re-reading your Q again...

BoincStats does not collect your credit through the BAM! engine (if that's what you meant) - BAM! just serves to control your crunching machines

The credit you earn on your PC goes directly to the project database itself, and then they are exported to different stats sites, one of them (IMHO the best) is BoincStats

Hi Forum,

Got rid of the unwanted projects at last.

Step 1) In the BOINCstats manager, select Tools / Stop using BOINCstatsBam!
Step 2) Highlight the unwanted project.
Step 3) In Projects / Commmands, click on Detach. The project will (should) disappear.

It was only after doing this complete sequence that the Detach button 'became' active.

So simple when you know how !!!

Many thanks for the various inputs.

semper-linux.
