Greetings,

I'm a fairly new user to Boinc and am trying to get it up and running to manage my participation in WCG and SETI. I want to provide 75% resources to WCG and 25% to SETI. I went to the Project Resources page on the Boinc Stats web site and set the percentages and updated. The Project List page shows these percentages correctly. But BAM! still reflects the default 50%/50% split.

My BAM client accurately reflects my changed Work Preferences so I think the client is properly sync'ing with BOINC. I did a Synchronize with BOINCstats BAM! from the Tools menu, but that didn't seem to have any effect.

I'm running BAM! 6.12.33 on Mac OS X 10.6.8 and Windows Vista 64bit, and the symptom is the same on both machines. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Jim

WCG does not follow the same standards as almost all other projects. To alter the resource share for WCG you must make you changes at the WCG site. WCG does not accept changes from BAM!.

The problem doesn't appear to be the WCG side of things. The problem is setting BAM! so that it will run tasks based upon the desired ratio. In BAM!, if you go to the Projects tab there is a column titled "Resource share". Currently this is set to 50% for each of my two projects. I would like to change that to 75%/25%. I've set this ratio in the "Project resources" page of BOINCstats, but can not get BAM! to recognize the change. (I am using web based preferences and have verified that changing them changes the setting in BAM!.)

Edit: Just to clarify, the issue isn't resource share between WCG projects, it is between WCG and non-WCG projects which are being run by BAM!.

Apologies for bringing up an old thread, but it came up on a search and therefore I figured it's relevant to keep it updated.

I'm having the same issue.
- Boinc manager 7.0.28 (x64) on a combination of windows 7, linux ubuntu server 12.10 and OSX 10.8.2 boxes
- 2 projects:
. - SETI@Home (0%)
. - World Community Grid (100%)
- changed SETI@Home resource share to 100%
- on each attached host, projects tab --> select each project --> click 'update'

I expected the Resource share numbers to change, but they don't.
I had to detach & reattach the project, but that seems heavy-handed.
In Jan 2013, does this issue still exist, or has it been changed in one of the updates since the sep2011 thread?

World Community Grid and Climate Prediction are the only 2 Boinc projects that are not set up to work correctly with BAM.

You have to go your account preferences on their site to make the changes.

The numbers you are entering are not really percentages they are resource share and anything between 0 and 10000 is valid.
