I recently reformatted one of my boinc hosts, and when it rejoined BAMStats it seems to have created a new host, fine, but then that host is kind of a "ghost", and the old host record is being updated, mostly.

The ghost record shows when the host last contacted Boincstats, but the old host record is holding all the stats for the host. Is this some type of weird CPID issue, or have I found some other oddity?

Thanks!

I have this problem too. Got a new computer and gave it the same name as its predecessor - now the old hardware's BAM ID is getting the new computer's credit even though the new one has a separate BAM ID.

Interesting that I've just had this happen, although I have no explanation as to why - I didn't make any system change.

However, from previous experiences I can tell you how to solve this, but it involves waiting...

After 30 days (I think), the old version of the host disappears from Host List. If you then click the 'Show all hosts' link below right of the list. the old host will appear with a red cross. Clicking this red cross will allow you to delete the old host. As scary as this sounds, once you have done that (and refreshed the page, possibly), the old and new versions of the host become combined into one.

Thank you.

I've had this issue for years with a few computers. I asked about deleting the old host but was warned the new host may become a ghost. I just tried it and it worked!
