Hi,

I have a problem finding my data correctly in boincstats : I used to find myself as [AF>France>IDF]Jerome_C2500 here, and the statistic is weird, especially my host list which is incorrect and messed up (it is ok if I check the host list in each of my projects).

My real user in all the boinc projects I'm in is "[AF>France>IDF] Jerome_C2005", I added the space here "] J" recently, it used to be "[AF>France>IDF]Jerome_C2005".

I think "[AF>France>IDF]Jerome_C2500" is an old incorrect user name I had setup in one of my project incorrectly and then correctly, I vaguely remember and it's pretty old.

I created an account yesterday here as "[AF>France>IDF] Jerome_C2005", and checked the option about the CPID, but nothing has changed today.

What can I do to help the system regroup my data correctly and have accurate stats here ?

Also, I'm not sure if I really have to create the account as "[AF>France>IDF] Jerome_C2005" here, or if there is another way to "link" my ID here and all my projects data - JeromeC would be enough as a user ID !

Thanks for your help.

Errrrr, I realized there were still several projects where I was "[AF>France>IDF]Jerome_C2500" :-S

--> ABC and malaria, plus some "dead" projects like predictor ("server down for maintenance" ) and proteins, where the web site does not even exist anymore to update my user ID...

So I corrected it in ABC and malaria, and did a CPID renew again here, hoping it will help... !

It doesn't help much, I still see no CPID under my profile here, and all is (badly) grouped under the wrong "[AF>France>IDF]Jerome_C2500" user...

still no change here, all individual projects can been seen under "[AF>France>IDF] Jerome_C2005" (except proteins and predictor which i can't change anymore, no project page) but they are not actually attached to my boincstat / BAM account (with the same name and email), no CPID...

After changing your name details on the projects, you should update every project on every computer.

Check also that you haven't got multiple records for any computers on any projects. If you have, merge the duplicate records. After doing this it's also necessary to click Update for every project on every computer.

Make sure that on each computer you have at least one project that's also on another of your computers. Preferably at least one project that's on every computer you have.

Then wait a day. Update all your projects again. After another day your records should be correct.

Thanks a lot for your answer

After changing your name details on the projects, you should update every project on every computer.

This had been done already, except as I said on the two projects where I can't do anything now since they don't have anymore project page, or the project is down : should I completely detach from these projects ?

Check also that you haven't got multiple records for any computers on any projects. If you have, merge the duplicate records. After doing this it's also necessary to click Update for every project on every computer.

I never see more computers than the 5 computers that I'm currently using on any of the projects I'm crunching for.

The only strange thing (not bothering me much, though) is that since I had to "install" boinc on the other 3 office PC I run by duplicating my whole \boinc directory from my first office PC (no install rights / no write rights on most directory on the 3 other ones), it took some time for the project stats to show each machine with proper stat (ie proper computer ID), and at the end there was a switch between my computer and one of the others : the stat history I ran on my own is now affected to one of the other (much more points, I've been boincing a lot more on my own). But again, it's not a big deal.

Make sure that on each computer you have at least one project that's also on another of your computers. Preferably at least one project that's on every computer you have.

I have 4 projects where all 5 computers can be seen on project pages, 2 where I don't have my own iMac since there is no mac OS X client for them (ABC and malaria) and one that's only on my iMac since I can't make it work on the 4 PC I use at the office (WCG is using https for all communications with project I could never make it work here).

Then wait a day. Update all your projects again. After another day your records should be correct.

I have updated all this several times. For all the 7 projects that I can check, the Cross-project ID is 0f427369fc065729f2235f772e83f26f, same user ID, same email, all seems coherent...

Thanks again for your help.

Lets try a different tack, this may not be a CPID issue at all.

You appear to be signed up with BAM!. On the left side of the pages here there should be a menu item "sign-up for projects". Go there, it should have a list of all the projects BAM! handles. Click the "find account" radio button for each project you participate in. Once they are all selected hit the search button at the bottom. This should associate your projects with your BAM! account.

Yes this is what I had done little time after I created the BAM account, now the Project List link shows :

and resources link shows :

and nothing is moving in there, but still I think it's a CPID issue since :

On the Alliance Francophone forum someone suggested I should just wait, it could take a long time before things get fixed in the stats, sometimes month... :'-(

I repeat one more time: CPID in BAM! has nothing to do with CPID in the stats. Renewing CPID in BAM! only let's BAM! gather all CPID info from the projects and pick the most likely one to point to your stats.

Renewing CPID in BAM! does not change the CPID's at the project's side, not does it patch things up in the stats.

Now my stats seem to have unified under [AF>France>IDF] Jerome_C2005, I think this happened cause proteins home site is working again and I could change my user to match this too, a few days later I could see it was now ok here.

However I still don't have a CPID here, I tried again the "renew" option but nothing...

I still have predictor where I can't change the user to be like the others since project says "currently moving to new location".

Or should I detach completely from predictor ? what would happen ?

I made changes to the update scripts so the username will be the one that is used most amongst projects.

I also see that your BAM! account now has a CPID.

I hope this solves all your (BAM! related) problems.

If not, let me know.
