I cloned a hard drive when building another cruncher system and just realized that both systems are using the same host id to the boincstats manager. I do not have access to the system I cloned at the present time. I do have access to the original one and was looking at the boinc manager and do not see any option to get a new hostid (if that is what it is called). Shall I disconnect from boincstats and reconnect? Will that force a new host id? Both systems show up correctly at the two projects they are signed up for as I did remember to change the window computer name. The new one simply is not listed in boincstats and I assume its credits are under the original.

I'm having the same issue as well. How to force a new BAM host ID for one of the systems?

I am having this issue currently, but it appears that no one has ever posted a way to fix it. I have two identical computers that when I sync with BAM, they overwrite the computer name from the other (i.e. computer XXX12 will be overwritten with computer XXX08, but they are two distinct machines with the exact same hardware). Does anyone have any ideas on forcing a new BAM ID on computer XXX08?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Below worked for me:

- Uninstall BOINC
- Remove user data files (https://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/BOINC_Data_directory)
- Restart
- Install BOINC
- Login

Unfortunately the solution that worked for rudabega didn't work for me. But this is happening on a Raspberry PI 3 so I can easily reinstall the OS and Boinc on a different SD card and see if that pushes it to get a new ID. Failing that I'll try a different OS. I'll report late next week.

Make sure to give it another host name!

I was able to keep the same name by changing the OS. In my case from Raspbian to Ubunto Mate. Not something everyone can do, but in my case it's a dedicated Raspberry Pi 3 cruncher so all I needed was a spare micro SD card and a little bit of time. Forr now I have two hosts with the same name, one running Ubuntu Mate and the earlier one that was running Raspbian. The Raspbian entry will fall off the stats report in a month.
From what Willy said there are at least two ways to fix the problem. A new(differnt) SD (drive), same OS and a different name or a new (different) SD, different OS (drive) and the same name. Neither of which are easy solutions on anything except a dedicated cruncher that you haven't spent much time customizing.
