Hi everyone!

I was browsing through my stats in Boinc client and noticed from the graphs that that somehow I had lost a great deal of credit. I went to Boincstats and found out that I had suddely gained 149,970 points and then lost them on the following day.

This is how my stats looked:

I checked my task-spesific stats and found out that the points were from Climate Prediction that has very long and heavy tasks. It seems that on that day my computer must have returned a project (Is it possible to gain that much from a single project? I'm not that familiar with Boinc anyway, I just run it on my computer... ), but what's up with the point loss? Was the package late or was there something else wrong with it?

I'm not that into gaining points, but I would be nice to know the logic behind this. Thanks!

Take a look into "Climate Prediction Mega Credits".
You're gain and loss is quite small compared to other crunchers.

I gained and lost 120 000 000 which caused anomalies in many of my charts especially the daily gain chart which is useless with that huge spike drowning out the normal daily activity. I have not worked on any climate prediction since the climate-gate emails exposed their crooked dealings,. I removed the 120 mil from the best 10 days but it didn't disappear from the charts and I do not know how to remove it. I don't think changing the CPID will fix the problem.

Doesn't matter if you crunched for them recently or not, if you're in their database then you could be subject to whatever database error is causing the problem.

Actually, changing CPID manually and leaving CPDN out could solve the problem, if you don't mind having CPDN credit "orphaned" out by itself. But, it could also cause some headaches if you have credit from retired or inactive projects.

The anomaly will drop off the charts in just 6 more days, I expect the range will normalize then.
*I did the same thing (removing my '2 billion plus' best day from the climate prediction spike).

Keep on crunching.
