The Q6600 is already dated technology and has been surplanted by the newer quads with 1333MHz FSB.

. . .BUT a single i7 [especially with upgraded memory] will outproduce 2 C2Q's to make it the best BOINCbeast going [especially when factoring in the cost of electricity].

. . . and the joy of crunching 8 WU's at a time cannot be underestimated.

Very true, of course, but it would also be tempting to snatch up another one at the sub-$400 pricing they had.
