I was thinking on something like that because I was checking all the projects in all my computers. That job is not very simple because you have to go computer by computer, or project by project, to check on it the flags.

I imagine a table with projects in raws and computers in columns, and all the corresponding flags (realtionship computer attached to project).
I also imagine at the bottom some buttons to attach/dettach the computer to all the projects, and at right some buttons to attach/dettach the project to all computers.

I don't know if I explained the idea very well. What do you think about it?

See you!

It's there already, just in a not-so-intuitive place: http://www.boincstats.com/bam/resources.php

Well, that's what I was saying. You must enter into each project to see witch computers are attached.

I was thinking on something like that:

______________PC1_______PC2______PC3 ...
SETI___________X_________X________X
EINSTEIN_______X_________X
ROSETTA_________________X________X
...

So you can see and administrate easily all computers and all projects in one view.

Resources page is good for resources preferences.
Host page is good for host preferences.

The page I'm talking it will be good for attaching/detaching hosts/projects.

Ohh now it makes sense On host list, you have to go computer by computer, on resource page, you have to do it project by project (there is "attach this to all computers" though). A table with all projects and all computers would be useful.
Although I'm not sure if it should have projects on left and computers on top... Some user may have hundreds of computers, in which case it would make more sense to have computers as rows and projects as columns. On the other hand, it may be annoying for somebody with 3 computers and all 37 projects... Maybe only way is making it horizontally scrollable.

I was thinking on it, too. Maybe a button to switch between both possibilities would be nice! Maybe Willy will kill me because maybe it's too much work ! (I'm sorry! )

Since we're throwing out suggestions, I'll add one. For this table, with projects on one axis and hosts on the other, don't just limit it to attach/detach radio buttons. Do both resource value and attach/detach button. That way you can see *everything* on one page. Sure, it would require scrolling, but it would be worth it.

Translators will be waiting to work on it.

If you need more testers, I would help you.

I totally second that idea. I was about to submit it when I found it already submitted here! By the way, I do have about a hundred hosts to manage, so I'd also favor hosts on the left and projects on the top

Such a feature would be extremely helpful figuring out how "fairly" (or unfairly) a given project is being dispatched on a user's hosts (as well as extremely helpful managing efficiently a large number of hosts/projects), because you can actually grasp quickly by looking at the matrix which projects are running on which hosts.

Also, If you actually implement such a matrix, a very useful information to add to the hostname is its number of CPUs (and eventually CPU type). As I suspect you don't want to bloat the table, if you don't want to have it 'written' next to the hostname, you can probably do it by using a title="" HTML tag so that this information appears when the user moves the cursor over the hostname, if you see what I mean.

Of course I'd be glad to help testing such a feature.

RAM is also a very interesting information: when managing a great number of hosts/projects, it's important to know whether or not a given host is suitable for a given project (eg. Climate Prediction has massive memory/cpu requirements...)
