For me, it works. At least from top level (Forums).

I take that back. When I checked before my post, all unread marks had disappeared, but when I reselected Forums after posting, the yellow marks were back again (only where they had been formerly) on top level. However, since they remain gone at lower levels, I can't (by reading something) remove them on top level any longer.

Gruß,
Gundolf

I was able to reproduce the same exact problem with those "yellow pages" using Firefox 3.0, Firefox 2.15 and IE7.0...

It doesn't work properly.

aka an undocumented feature.

A more sophisticated phrasing would be:
"That's not a bug, it's a feature." :-)

That's what my Microsoft contact always says when I confront him with a Vista 'shortcoming'.

I have a Vista and because of it, my quad is an XP.

. . . of course then, my Vista experience improved a lot with SP1.
