I like the 'recent threads' feature, but the formatting is a bit untidy, and it's a bit tricky to get the context without knowing which forum the post was in.

How about putting the forum title above the thread title, and changing the date/time to:

New - i.e in the last few hours, maybe just today?
Today - Fairly obvious, but perhaps make it 24 hours?
Recent - Fill in the remaining 'slots' with the most recent

It's also a bit lost down at the bottom-right of the page. So how about a link to the 'hot list' below the 'Bugs go in the forum' link. I don't think 'bugs go in the forum' helps because people assume that the forums are only for bugs.

Look at the amount of traffic in the shoutbox regarding RS, CosNO, ABC and the other projects that are experiencing 'technical difficulties'. Why aren't there threads in the 'Projects' forum and a link to them to keep the clutter down?

Sorry, rambled on a bit there

Al.

Maybe I'm really blind (internal joke :-), but what feature are you talking about? (I even waited two days to ask, in case IE6 needs to get aware of changes.)

What I'm missing though, is the "who is currently reading which thread" feature.

Are those two issues dependant somehow?

There is a small window on the frontpage on the right side ca. in the middle of the page which is listing the threads, in which was posted last.
Depending on screen resolution, it might not be seen until you scroll down.

What I'm missing though, is the "who is currently reading which thread" feature.

Seconded.
I miss that, too, but decided to wait until another one found out and posted it.

The "who is currently reading which thread" feature is disabled to see if that solves some of the server performance problems. If so, it'll probably never return.

Found it! Never looked at the homepage, always searched through the fora!

It doesn't "feel" as if the server "hangs" got fewer since the feature is switched off.

Nope, but I'm trying all possible bottlenecks and this is one of them.

You made me so curious about this new framework. Can't wait to see it.

I have seen it. It is a delight to the eye, and indeed, the very soul.

I liked it. A lot.

Will be V pleased when Willy rolls it out (obvious jokes already considered!).
