Please fix the connection to WCG, The last three weeks I've tried to get BAM to find my WCG account, but every time I've tried I get "No response from project".

I'm afraid, there's nothing that Willy can fix... WCG has to adopt some BOINC server standards to be BAM-compatible. At the Moment, BAM can only read informations from WCG, but not update anything there (see list of supported projects).

Well that would be perfectly fine for me, But I cant even get BAM to find my account, therefore I have to manually add WCG to any new hosts I add to BAM.

I am a member of the Easynews team on WCG, even though under Teams in 'My BAM menu' it says
''World Community Grid Not a member of a team''

So, apparently, BAM does not actually read all the info from WCG, either. (?)


e.g. My personal stats are generated ok here, but team stats say 'invalid team'.

[edit] mmmmmmmmmm - 660 and 60 - how carbon-ite of me.

Works very well for me although until recently it would not. Just need to be sure all options are appropriately ticked in your BAM profile and the WCG password user name are same here as there and the correct CPID is registered here.

List of options I see this moment:

Project List: Should list WCG with "Attached to Ne Host" ticked, show the resource & % overall
Sign Up for projects: Should no longer list WCG
Project Resources: WCG with 100 and "Attached to New Host" ticked.
Preferences: Should indicate which venue you wish to be used. With 6.6 at least this can be done in the cc_config.xml too
Team: That you'll have to do one-time at WCG and goes for all member devices.

What would be nice if Willy could convince David Anderson to list the url when choosing "attach to account manager". I never remember. Certainly not listed in 6.6.11

I tried to convince David (around the switch from version 4 to 5) to change the attach to a project wizard (on a fresh BOINC installation) to include a selection between "select projects" and "attach to account manager" Selection one would take you to the wizard there is now, the other one offers a choice between GR and BAM!.

If memory serves right the verdict was that it would be included in the next major release.........

It has been included but BAMs address is wrong

Well, I didn't change anything but it's showing my team as Easynews now... so thank you to whoever fixed whatever.

I will look for the 'attach' instructions again (fairly certain those settings are unchecked on all of mine).

Re Downloaded 6.6.11 - link fixed

It's still not perfect. On a fresh install you get the "select a project" wizard. It would be better if it shows a selection for projects or AMS first, then move on to the associated wizard.

Now it only shows the available AMS when going to advanced mode and going to "attach to AMS".
