I personally have a RAC in the millions (4.18M). My team's official RAC is a mere 16,908.

In what alternative universe is this reasonable?

This is because you are a member of a different team 'University of Washington' on Collatz Conjecture where your 4M RAC is. Those credits are not being assigned to team 'Vassar College' and thus it also doesn't get the RAC addition.
