Hi Willy

A couple of times now I've had it happen that when I click on a link here on your site, that an ad pops up which takes over the full browser window.
Unfortunately this is completely unacceptable to me. I have my Ad blocker disabled for your site, because I'm not against ads in general, but they mustn't irritate me (which is what this latest one does).
Please reconsider the use of such ads, as I will at the least, enable the ad blocker. But I will wait a day or so for a response before I actually change anything. Perhaps Google somehow sneaked this in?

Thanks
Rod

It's Adsense which decides to do this, I have found no setting so far to disable those full screen ads. I'll inquire with them how te prevent them.
Please do not PM, IM or email me for support (they will go unread/ignored). Use the forum for support.

Thank you, Willy. I had a feeling this wan't something you would agree with
I will leave my ad blocker deactivated on your site for now, and just bear the irritation.

Wonderful!
Thank you!
I can't afford to donate, thanks to very little income during lockdown, but I will certainly click quite a few ads in the next few days. Hope that will help.

Don't do that. Adsense will notice it and will just take the clicks of the balance.

I'm not sure I understand how it works, but I won't click. I thought your site earned a little bit more when an ad is clicked?

Sometimes just a view generates a tiny revenue, sometimes a click is needed.

When multiple unrelated clicks are detected (for example, you click on all ads with very different subjects) then Adsense disregards the clicks based on some algorithm as erroneous or as click bot. Otherwise I could just ask everyone who visits the site to click ten times every day and I'll become a millionaire (I would not mind).

Just to be clear, before Adsense disables my account: I do not encourage anyone to click on the ads to just generate revenue for me.
