E2.net was not sending wus for months (more than two), then why I have more than 17% in pie chart of my BS-RAC at this project? And, how you can see in my sig, I have mora than 1700 BSRAC at this project...

Thanks

PD my CPID is cdd6db7c8a0b67e2b5dba512e3b5ca38

Looks like this is the same as the issue I raised regarding Zivis. For some reason the BS-RAC isn't decaying properly on these old projects.

Fixed the signature. Now the other places where BS RAC is used.

I went on and changed the BS-RAC on the detaild pages of the projects (eg showing a lowering number and eventually zero when a project is retired), then I remembered that for retired projects we show the data as on the day the project was retired. So I reverted the changes.

But why is this so?
I would perhaps understand this for the project RAC (wouldn't be nice imho, but understandable) but not for the recalculated BS-RAC.
The RAC is a measure for actual crunching, nobody crunches for Zivis or HashClash now, so the RAC should be 0.

If you want to preserve the status quo for retired projects, why not do so as well for those that we retired voluntarily and didn't crunch any more?

Good points. I will consider this again. I would appreciate more thoughts about this.

I think a new thread with a better title in BOINCstats general would be better for this purpose.

(And what has happened to your sig? wasn't it supposed to have no borders around the letters any more?)

Only one more question... pay your attention to my sig. How is possible I have this total BS-RAC with the sum of BS-RAC's of showed projects?

Thanks

EDIT: Showed projects are all the projects that I participated...

If you take a look at your 60 day histories you can see that about 1,5~2 months ago your credit was jumping up and down, must have been a CPID issue. If the oldest day in the history (that is used for the BS-RAC calculation) is a negative day it would result in a huge BS-RAC.

If you take a look at the other sigs in this thread you see that the calculation is correct.

As you asked for further thoughts, I thought I'd add my 2 Pfennige worth.

As a project is retired or disappears, it is, therefore, not possible to continue doing work for the project. As such, the RAC, if the project had a long period of phase-out, would drop to zero. Where there is no long phase-out period, the RAC would then be trapped at a level that really would not be possible. Therefore when just statistics are saved, the RAC should either be immediately zeroed or a mechanism should be introduced to fade the RAC to zero over a period of given time.

The work done, should be kept for a while but the question is then for how long? I'd like to see, at some point in the future, as more projects have completed their work or disappear, for what ever reason (no orderly shut down), to have a 'theoretical' project created where all such accumulated credit would be added perhaps calling such... Projects No Longer Active (PNLA). (Nah, looking at the English acronym, it may be interpreted as something like Peoples' New Liberation Army) so how about Projects: Completed and Inactive (P:CI).

Some of this is already done. Look at my sig you will see an entry marked "idle projects" this covers my projects that are not producing more than 10 RAC. You do have to create a custom signature for this to work though.
