Hello Willy -you did it again :

On my detailed stats list for cpu ID "2586184" I found to have lost about 2500 credits 3 days ago:
http://de.boincstats.com/stats/boinc_host_graph.php?pr=bo&id=2586184

-Then looking around for the other CPU´s I get some strange error messages, and stats are gone!:
"JPGraph Error: Graph::_SetScale(): Specified Max value must be larger then the specified Min value." (Underscore to avoid smiley)
"JPGraph Error: Illegal pie plot. Sum of all data is zero for Pie Plot."
http://de.boincstats.com/stats/boinc_host_graph.php?pr=bo&id=573944
http://de.boincstats.com/stats/boinc_host_graph.php?pr=bo&id=316285

I´m not sure wether this affects also the combined stats. -Seems that the curve is flattening due to errors in sum count?

Thanks for looking at this.

Hi, this is my first post here.

In the last few days I've noticed that I have some negative points in my hosts stats. It seems that my (very old) points from Predictor@Home are missing in the hosts, although they appear on the projects stats.

I get the same errors mentioned by sciencefreak on some graphs of my hosts with the missing stats.

I hope this helps.

I also am seeing negative credits for 2 of my 3 hosts and wondering if it's also related to the topic of this thread.

HOST ID 1424448 Lost 7,644 total points in the past month -- -6,894 points on on 2009-02-07, -750 points on 2009-01-26.
and
HOST ID 1768233 Lost 14,642 total points in the month -- all on on 2009-02-07.

I reviewed my detailed points for all projects and could not find any negative of "missing" points for either of those two days.

I can't check for all of you, but check if the negative credit corresponds to an equal increase in credit for another one of your hosts, a duplicate entry. If so, the credit was effectively transferred from "one host to another", and that's called a host CPID split. Basically, what happens is that BOINC assigns every host and user a unique identifier, called a CPID, or cross-project ID. If for some reason, the CPID changes, BOINCStats will see that new ID as a new host, and the credit that was on the host before doesn't exist anymore, at least in the current stats.

EDIT: Looks like Dr Who Fan may have suffered from it, and I can't find bono_vox's stats. However, it looks like sciencefreak did actually lose credit, and not from a CPID split. It's possible the stats from one project aren't being checked anymore. That's something Willy would have to answer.

It can be a split host CPID or a project with problems (like MilyWay). BS still checks all the projects.

It would be of cgreat help if you can identify in/from which project your host lost credit. Check if a project is missing from the project list of that host.

No it´s definitely a bug in the statistics. Ive´got only 4 hosts, 2 of them are currently down since about a month. Both have erranous entries in the stats, having lost all the history till Jan 26, getting a lot of credits at Jan 27 and loosing some amount at Feb 06.
See for yourself:
http://de.boincstats.com/stats/boinc_host_graph.php?pr=bo&id=573944
http://de.boincstats.com/stats/boinc_host_graph.php?pr=bo&id=316285

Detailed project statistics do not show any ups or downs for the last 30 days, just the credit sum from last activity.

There are also those error messages in the graphs plot, these should not occur if they were fed with correct data. Same errors were mentioned in another thread but this was marked as solved...

Hi.

In my case, the missing stats are from Predictor@Home. My hosts stats are here.

As an example, you can compare the stats from one of my hosts between BoincStats and AllProjectStats where you can see that P@H is missing here:

BoincStats
AllProjectStats

Thanks in advance for your time to look into this.

The host table is already really really (really really) big and the host update takes over 6 hours. Therefor hosts stats are somewhat limited compared to the other stats. Another reason is that hosts change their CPID more ofter and after a while there are hosts in the stats from retired projects which are long dead, but still there. So, in all my wisdom (cough cough) I have decided not to include retired projects in the BOINC

Hi

I have the same problem. At the 7th of februar 2009 I lost a lot of credits for a lot of my computers. But when I look into the projects of these computers I cant see a lost of credits. And in the summary of the day the credits are in plus, but should be in minus. What can be the problem? Any idea?

yes I have read it, but I didn't understand the meaning of retired projects. Thanks to bono_vox for the link to AllProjectStats. There I found the missing projects - Tanpaku and Predictor.

Thank you

They are "retired", because they don't exist anymore, or haven't been active for a really long time. There are no stats updates from these projects, and since your active projects will probably change your host CPIDs, you end up with "ghost" computers that only have credit from the retired projects.

Sorry, but it has not much sense to simply "delete" the projects without correcting the complete stats. -Ether the whole project should be deleted including correction of the history for not counting those cradits at all. -Gone with the wind! Very bad decision to participate in that!

-Or some kind of "retired project count" should be included, so that such strange behavior does not occure.
Of course -the work has been done, the credits were given, -so the history should be there. If the company you did work for go bust, do you loose all the salary you already earned in the past?

And this question is still not answered: What happened to the history? Now it looks like 2 of my nodes were created on January 28 with a sudden amount of -well, some credits, never got them, but then gained some more out of a sudden, lost some others a few days later and now stay at this point. -In reality those were down since about 2 months now, -hopefully I will be able to reactivate them soon...
-But the whole history is now gone, and it´s showing a really erratic curve!
-No there is no CPUID problem! Maybe on BoincStats, -this I can´t rate. But not on the project side!

So sad, at this very moment BoincStats is of very little use for me! -Thanks for BAM -this is actually the only reason to come over here.

I don't understand the fuss you are making. The credit is included for users, teams and countries. Teams and countries almost always keep their name and cautious users keep their CPID, but there is next to no control over the host CPID. It's of no use the keep dragging all those old hosts from old projects which after some time have no relationship whatsoever to any active host. Not only does it pollute the stats, it also slows down the update.

So, no credit is lost for users, teams and countries and yes, hosts may loose some, but they will anyway on their next CPID change.

Hey Guys,

My total credit dropped 16,938 overnight. It went from 1,643,908 to 1,626,970. It should have gone up 12,863 to 1,656,771. Looks like something went unreported.
