Yesterday everything was fine and today I get this...

Team ID doesn't exist in BOINC combined or doesn't have any credit.

Is this a temporary server issue, or do I need to renew my CPID?

Thanks for the help.

Why would you renew your user CPID?

Anyway, it's a server issue, team tables were incorrectly copied to the webserver after the last incremental update. The Daily update will fix the problem, so in about an hour the teams will be back.

Ok, I waited a couple of days to see how this ironed out. My sig quit displaying individual projects (as you can see below). I didn't do anything to change it and this started right after the problem was "fixed."

So, when will the sigs get fixed.

And Willy to answer your question: "Why would you renew your user CPID?"

Well, I'm not really sure what that does, that's why I asked. If I missed some documentation with an explanation, point me in the right direction. Your FAQ's seem to expect a certain knowledge of how all this stuff works and isn't really meant for the layman.

In fact, this whole grid networking thing seems to be by scientists for scientists. Folks should realize that if they want to solicit the help of John Q. Public, it's necessary to explain things a little better. I bet a lot of folks just get frustrated trying to figure out how to get all this stuff working and pack it in.

Looks like this hasn't corrected itself yet, all team sigs are still empty...

That might be, but why should changing your CPID have anything to do with your team's signature?

Well, it turned out that after the copy issue, the team tables were copied to the web-server, and right after that the table holding an overview of the teams/projects got corrupted on the web-server. Talking about Murphy doing his thing!

Fixed that too.

Grundolf,

When I search for my username, I get this response: Your search - mark7337 - did not match any user
So... I just assumed that as team leader my user name and team name held the same CPID? You see how confused I am?

It all seems to be working again.

That's because your user name at (the most of) your projects seems to be "Mark" and not "mark7337".

So... I just assumed that as team leader my user name and team name held the same CPID.

AFAIK, teams don't have a CPID; they are identified by name.

Well, I probably did this all backwards but I didn't even know about BOINCStats when I downloaded the BOINC project manager. I was able to set up all my projects (except for one) with my name but when I went to set up the account here I had to add the digits.

As you can see from my pic, I'm just a cockateil using a TRS-80 pocket computer... so all this can be confusing at times.

Thanks for the info though.

You should be able to change your username, so the account details line up at all of the projects. That will bring all of your stats under the same user on BOINCstats.

I was able to change all the names at the project websites to match my username here. Hopefully that will help keep things connected. Thanks for the advice.
