Hello Everyone out there,
First of all, I must apoligize. Since English ist not my native langugage, it sometimes may be a bit diffeerent to understand me. But I hope my writing is still comprehensible.
For several days I cannot add new Clients in BAM! anymore. I always use the BAM! Account Manager in BOINC for administrating my hosts.
So when I want to add a new host using BAM! Account masnagement, BOINC Manager always says „login to account management failed“.
This error message also appears when I try to connect / add a completely new pc which never ever ran BOINC. So this very highly likely seems to have somnething to do with my account itself.
I already renewed the CPID, but it seems like this doestnot work. At the main account page, there is still no new CPID visible, but the renewing of the CPID initiated by me had happen already more than 24 hours ago.
My other connected hosts still work properly and can communicate with BAM! In Boinc Manager.
I think this initially has something to do with my former actions. I still had an old pc running Windows 7 and Boinc. I have done an inplace Upgrade from Windows 7 to windows 10 since there were lots of programms and program data I did not want to lost. Of course in did a Backup before upgrading.
Since I wanted to replace the whole PC, I removed the System SSD (after Upgrade to Windows 10) and have put it in another PC i want to use further. After some time showing „devices are made ready for operation“ the PC booted and was ready for use.
At this time BOINC still worked (in the new PC) but already had some problems. Boinc just did not recognize my graphics card („GPU not found“ Message in Boinc Manager near the Tasks supposed to be reckoned by the GPU). The old PC only had an intel on-Boad GPU not suitable for Boinc and apart ftom that also not assigned to Boinc, but the new one contains a separate GPU (Geforce GTX 1080). Some actions like completely unistalling Boinc and reinstalling BOINC Manager were not successfull.
Boinc still furthermore did not detect my GPU.
So I changed the Host Name of my System. The Host using the new name was recognized as a new host and listetd under Hosts in BAM!stats, but the problem in regards tot he unrecognized GPU still remained.
Removing the other drive (the Boinc data were saved on another hard drive than the manager – the manager was installed on a the system SSD) and completely new installing the boinc manager did not work and were neither successfull.
After trying different actions I decribed above with different options, it is not possible to add any host to my BAM! account anymore. the is alsways the error message „login to account management failed“. This even appears, as I also decribed above, on a completely new pc never ran Boinc.
Also using the portable Version of BOINC gets no success. I still did not try to use Boinc without BAM! Account Management, but since I do want to collect all of my credits on all my hosts in one Account, this is not really an appropriate option for me, even if it works.
Is there anyone of you guys out there who might can help me / having a solution form y problem?
