Hello,

I would like to ask you if a team's url could be modified if the information posted here is incorrect. I am the captain of team "Romania" from WCG (http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/team/viewTeamInfo.do?teamId=Q5XNJBR9N1) and the URL assinged to it (don't know when and by whom) is not the team's website and also doesn't seem to have anything in common with the project or BOINC in general.

Thanks,

Razvan

Yes, go to the boards over @WCG and ask this question there.
WCG doesn't behave like any other BOINC project, nothing can be done here abut it, there is no way even BAM! can properly talk to WCG on such issues.
So your only chance is to ask there on the board.

What about the situation where the team URL is empty on here and there are members running in more than one project. Where should the team URL be set? Where does this site read it from? It would be best if there were somewhere on here to set/edit it.

It is read from the XML file exported by the projects. Setting it here would last until the XML is updated, the changed info will be overwritten by the info from the XML.

It is not, and will not, be supported to change the info of active projects on this site.

So, what you're saying is that if the details coming from the different projects is inconsistent, the data here is from whichever project was polled most recently. That would seem to be random. Surely something consistent would be better than something random?

Where did I use the word "random"?

When updating the combined stats, the URL with the highest value (a MySQL thing) is selected from the projects. More consistent than this is impossible, I can't foresee any possible change in data.

You didn't, but what you said made it sound like it depended on recency of project data, which would appear (to a person, even if not to the database) to be random. I assume the "URL with the highest value (a MySQL thing)" is a majority wins thing, which seems like as good a way to handle it as any.
