I like the new look of the forum here but it shows a bit "distorted" on my lappy (1920x1200 res):

Any ideas?

Exactly the same dpi.

Maybe a FF3 problem?

Try hitting CTRL-0.

And if that works, buy glasses or contacts

Well, you can say that, but the font in your image is clearly larger than what it's supposed to be. I compared it with IE, FF and Chrome on my workstation and laptop and all have a (default) smaller font.

Well, I am using 120 dpi but normal font size.
Btw, I've been playing around with font sizes in FF now and the effect is still the same: the lines go through the text.

EDIT @Frank: what's the timewarp-quote?

IE does look much better (sorry... *cough cough*).
The lines are perfectly under the text and furthermore there are no "round edges":

I really don't know why my FF3 makes it look so ugly.
