First - I saw that other thread about a resource share problem. But mine is somehow different

Currently I'm crunching only 2 projects on one machine, Enigma an WCG. I want the ratio to be 1:3 (1 for fun and 3 for science ).

As I know WCG ist only supported in read-only-mode and the share will always be "100", I entered "33" for Enigma, which would make up 1/3. The BAM host details shows 24,8% and 75,2%. The BOINC client does so as well.
Excellent, so far.

But:
RAC (according to Enigma@Home) 69.33860
RAC (according to BOINCstats) 54.16088

RAC (according to World Community Grid) 112.89495
RAC (according to BOINCstats) 72.63838

70:113 (or 54:73) is like 1:1,5, not 1:3. That's more Enigma than I intended.

It's not a really big problem, but I wonder if I'm getting something wrong here or BAM.

Hello Carter,

You are comparing apples with pears.
The resource share is to give out your CPU-time in your chosen ratio for the projects and have nothing to do with the credits/RAC you got for it. The two projects should give exactly the same amount of granted credit/cpu hour to compare the way you did.

Now that was simple Thanks for the fast enlightenment!

I thought awarded credits and resource share would match. As this is not so, I conclude: Enigma is more "generous" with credit than WCG is, right (just to get it straight)?

Yes, you're right.
In an ideal world they would be a bit closer, but as the different applications run with different efficiency on different CPU/RAM/OS setups it will never be really the same.

At the moment discussions are going on in the developers mailing list about a better resource share system as the resources will diversify in the future, starting just now with CPU and GPU as crunchers in the same machine. RAC could be a good measure for this if it will be given better, i.e. more similar in all projects.

For now the only measurement for the resource share is the CPU time.
