LHC@home 2.0 launched

We are announcing the start of beta testing of the first
second-generation LHC@home project.
It is the first of what is expected to be a series of physics
applications running on the
LHC@home 2.0
Volunteer Cloud platform.
This is a test project, to demonstrate the use of virtual machines using
the CERN-developed
CernVM
technology inside BOINC systems to perform
fully-fledged LHC physics event simulation on volunteer computers.
All LHC@home volunteers are welcome to join the beta testing, which will
initially accept about 1000 active helpers. Full information for joining
is given at:
LHC@home 2.0

Hmm... this is what scares me

They've used the same words on the LHC++ alpha test, and now on beta they still have to prove it works to somebody?

There's been words in the past saying that CERN won't trust enough the boinc network (either its security or the results themselves) to let us run their real computing analysis, so... is this a real step ahead, or it is just an essay that can be cancel or fed with less important (hope not useless) work?
