  • DrugDiscovery needs to be delisted. It doesn't appear it will return for a long while if ever...
  • GoofyX is now Grid Computing Center (GCC) and has both NCI (Non Computing Intensive) and Normal clients. (Seems we don't have NCI noted although there's only one other project that has it.)
  • LHC Sixtrack (Classic) is now beta testing 64 bit Android and 64 bit Linux on ARM clients.
  • ОДЛК (ODLK): New Math Project involving Latin Squares: https://boinc.progger.info/odlk/ - Windows 64 bit, Linux 64 bit




Also, all the LHC sister projects have officially moved under the main LHC umbrella now. Except for Sixtrack, they are all Vbox.

It used to happen that some projects would list support for AMD64, but they just renamed the x86 file to comply with the mechanism used by BOINC, particularly on Windows. This used to be the case with Cosmology and LHC, among others. Therefore, I never listed them here. Since I haven't had a Windows machine for a few years, it may take me longer to confirm if this is still the case for Cosmology and LHC.

Without a deeper delving, I'd assume an active project today with a listed 64 bit client is indeed what it says. I'd suspect if it they weren't someone would soon figure it out...

VirtualBOX apps do indeed have a higher footprint although the footprint varies from project to project just as if they were native apps. One of the main issues of VBox is that BOINC bundled a rather old version of it with the BOINC client. Generally, having a current version resolves many issues previously experienced.

As for Beta, yes it is as it says but generally I have not experienced severe issues and those I have encountered mainly reside within BOINC.



I also try to follow the delisting of projects by BAM, refraining to preempt it.


Maybe an 'Inactive' list for those projects that have not had activity for a whiles but are still there, although with no definitive info on the projects future. After a set time (6 months?), they get dropped off.

Ok, but can you at least add the Cuda app for Enigma? On their website it´s still labeled beta but it runs pretty much flawless and should be seen as stable.

Still, as long as an application is marked as beta or test, it'll not run unless the user selects the optional preference to run them.

I was looking through the list and came across some projects that need to be retired:


BigData -- main page is mostly missing. forums are not enabled/created. user login/creation appears to be functional (I didn't try account creation), and I did get a Server Status which shows work but no user activity...

Is Pruebas still around? I could find only one link from '14 to it and there's no response from that IP. Checked WUProp and nothing showing for it there either.

SUDOKU retired a whiles back.

Looks like VolPEX is retired. Just a welcome to new site message at website. Attempting to go any deeper results in page not found messages.

XANSONS should be moved to the retired list. They completed their principal calculations end of September and thus turned off new user creation.



On another note: Bitcoin has 64 bit for Windows and ARM (Linux). It doesn't say if the Mac client is 32 or 64.

I thought about that, but I need to give some more thought about it. It seems that Android clients are in a much more comfortable position than the early users of AMD64 were though. Besides, some projects don't explicitly state so, requiring one to hack the URL to look for the ARM64 support. But it's a good idea.

Main work done. Only doing periodic (suppose to be monthly, but hasn't quite followed that schedule) releases for new entries. Locked to new users. (Maybe we need a new notation for projects locked to new users??)

CPU GoofyX has a 64 bit LINUX. Windows is only 32 ATM. Starfleet says to check back in for updates, Captain.


LHC lists its ARM64 clients on apps page. I can't recall who else has them.
