i just added a new windows xp host successfully using boinc's bam account manager (this same process still doesn't work on my linux host even though i'm doing nothing differently - see previous post)

10/14/2006 2:54:06 PM||Account manager contact succeeded

bam didn't attach my projects, even though it's set to do so on my resources page. i had to manually sign into my account on this website, select host list, select host name, check box all my projects in the 'attach?' column and click the set button...then i had to switch back to boinc, select tools / syncronize, and then the projects were attached:

they are two separate, though interrelated problems concerning two separate hosts. perhaps instead of spending time and energy moving posts the issue could be properly acknowledged, addressed and solved.

This host has no projects assigned in BAM!.
Where's the point? Do I have to attach BOINC to every project, like without using BAM? Shouldn't BAM add projects to BOINC?

You add projects to BAM, and BAM will automatically attach them on BOINC client...

You first add projects to BAM in Sign-up for projects (you need email address and password on projects to be the same as on BAM), then go to Host list, click the host, and tick the checkboxes for the projects you want on that host.

This automatic attaching was broken the last time I tried to set up a new host. Even though I have 5 projects set to automatically attach none were attached. I would have expected Willy to have found and fixed it by now though.

Fixed this today... I kept looking over the bug, which was actually using a wrong var at the wrong place.

I have got a similar problem today too. I am new to BAM. I have signed up all my existing accounts to "project list", then download BONIC 5.8.15 and followed the instructions to use BAM as the Account Manager, which it shows successful attached.

However, no projects shown up after attached. I exit and open BONIC again but there are still no projects. Are there any help for it? Thanks

When I login to BONIC again, the program asked me to fill in details for "attach to project". What should I fill in?

I think you havn't chosen any projects here in your BAM!-account.
This message usually only pops up as long as you are not connected to any projects.

Go to the Project sign up page and create one or more accounts. Afterwards connect your BOINC to BAM! once more and all those projects should appear in there.

you also need to click on the "host list" (after doing what was stated above) and then click on your host. After that, you need to check what projects you want to run on that host and then click apply. Once that is done, in your BOINC Manager, click tools -> synchronize.

I had signed up for projects before I download BONIC, and this is the project list

My projects Short description Attach new host by default? Resource
share Stats Remove project
Climate Prediction Study climate change 100 0.0%
SETI@Home Look for radio evidence of extraterrestrial life 100 0.0%
World Community Grid Help finding cures for human diseases like HIV/AIDS 100 0.0%

I have already chosen the projects I wanted already (I used to have several accounts in the past and just want to manage them together now). Are there anything I hadn't done?

There is a clickbox on the projct page where it says "Attach by default".
If you click that, those projects should be on every of your puters.

if you already crunch on the puter, all those projects should stay on it and crunch happily further on.

If you want to attach more projects, go to the puters side here and mark the box(es) at the projects list. After next contact they will appear.
