Would anyone know if the new version will have a more user control to it? For example, when you hit the update button a project you can say "I want more work from here" or "I want X amount of WU from this project"; instead of the program itself deciding if you want more work from there or not. And another one, can you have the option of telling a WU or project what time it can work. Like climate prediction can work from 22:00 to 06:00, and SETI can work from 06:00 to 10:00, and SZTAKI from 10:00 to 15:00, and so on?

Any info would be great. I really don't want to try a new program this early on, especially with no programming knowledge or knowing what errors to look for in a program that new. Thanks.

None of those features are in the development version at this time. In most cases letting BOINC do it's thing will cause it to behave better. Although I personally would like some of the features you mentioned, in most cases they will cause BOINC to less acurately do what you want it too. I am also afraid that chosing times for specific projects will be impractical, due to the varying mixes of projects on different hosts.

There is a new setting for 5.9/5.10 for "Maintain enough work for an additional [1-10] days". I think it is in addition to the "connect every" setting. This may cause you miss deadlines, so be careful.

There is such a feature in BoincStudio (based on core 5.4.9 or 5.4.11?) that enables to ask a desider project for extra work.
I have suggested/asked to add option for "1 sec of work" which would be very useful for tester to download just one task with up-to-date aplication.

Newer version is under development and early beta-testing right now...
