I'd love to have all the proxy, account, etc settings all bundled up in a custom EXE - has anyone had success with this?

I know United Devices did some basic bundling services before they expired, but haven't seen any BOINC stuff...

help! I can add a TON of machines if I can do this!

Easy on Linux, not so easy on Windows. Particularly if you want it running as a service and/or auto-start on boot.

See Ticket #362.

See the lazy slug for a Windows way of doing what you want:

Not everyone has Active Directory on his LAN.

yah, I'm not looking for a global push or attempt modifying the entire active directory - we have well over 100,000 nodes...

I'm looking more for a deployment wrapper, either bundled in a modified EXE or via registry edits - heck if I could just copy the program files directory and slap in a .reg file to tweak things that could be scripted pretty quickly...

Don't know about the installation, but everything after it is installed can be done by calls to the client, and those can be scripted.

There may even be flags to set responses in the install, that would be something to look for on BOINC's Trac site.
This signature was stolen from somewhere.

Are you "Officially" putting BOINC on every host that Intel has? If so I am sure that Dr. David Anderson would personally make something for you if you asked him nicely.

But that is just me guessing. Don't pay any attention to the monkey, except could you put a few of those hosts in my account name?

You may not be able to use the active directory part of the Lazy Slugs method, but messing around with the MSI/MST might be able to give you a neat install for your nodes.
