With all projects credits earned while member of a team stay with that team. The only exception is Climateprediction (and possibly the spin-offs).

This doesn't mean your own user credit will decrease, that will stay with you.

So, what happens with credit for teams on projects that follow the rules:

    * you are not a member of a team and you join a team: the team credit will be increased with all your old an new credit
    * you are a member of team a and move to team b: team a will keep the credit you earned while you were a member. Team b will get your new credit
    * you are a member of team a quit team membership and after a while join team b: I'm not sure here. Depends of whether or not the BOINC developers thought about this. team a will hold on to the credit you earned while you were a member, team b will get your new credit, but I don't know what happens with the credit you earned while in between teams.

Thanks for the prompt answer - is it possible to rename a team? ("including" the points)

Renaming is not a problem, though you will loose the history here on BOINCstats in the combined stats.

Are you sure about your first point here? I thought that teams only got credit while you were a member, with no transfer even to the first team you join.

I think I become barefaced, but is it possible

- to delete the team "Distributed Ostfriesland"
- an then rename team "RKSH" to "Distributed Ostfriesland"?

We want gather people who "distribute their computer" in our region in a team.
We had the idea of the teamname "Distributed Ostfriesland" and founded this team. Afterwards we noticed that we lost all points in this way...

Hope you understand and can help us!

Greetings

Andy

I'm not sure but it would explain huge jumps in credit when a new member joins a team which just happens to not being a member of any team before (wow, is that good English?).

Moin moin,

You can't merge two teams, just rename them.
If I got it right, you've founded both teams already, and crunched for the wrong name up to now. If that's correct, here's the way you should do it:

Rename the creditless team to something like "Nicht eintreten, Scheißteam" or such.
Rename the right team to "Distributed Ostfriesland" afterwards.

Your team will probably get the "history" of the bogus team afterwards, as Willy has no way of getting it right, but after 2 month most will be fine. And you won't lose any Credits (except those of the bogus team).

I assume you're the founder, here's the way to do it:

Go to your account page on every project. Under "Teams" there should be an item called either "management functions" or under "Community", sub-item "Team", the link "Administer". Click on that and you got "Edit team info" in the first line of the new opened page. Click here again, and you are able to change anything.

Done! Must I now change it in boincstats or go this on automatically when boincstats renews the statistics?

BOINCstats only reads the XML from the projects and takes this data. For some time you may have some confusion for projects that don't update their XML fast enough, but that's it.

Your data for BAM! are not used for the stats.

Happy Vollgascrunching!

I observed on mindmodeling that when I received 6 CS before I joined any team the team's total is 6 CS lower than the total of the team members credits. So I am convinced this is the default behavior. There may be projects that do this differently though.
