Hello,

I try to connect Boinc-manager to a boinc-client on another host on Fedora 10

I have open 1046 port on the host and also try to add remote_host.cfg in /var/lib/boinc/ with the adresse of my remote host

In Boinc-manager I select other computer and enter gui_rpc_auth.cfg password whitout connection...

The correct port is 31416. BOINC hasn't used 1046 for many years now.
Not running BOINC anymore for several reasons...

Thanks for your reply !

I try with 31416 port end now it's work.

Also in boinc.log I find that there is a problem for boinc-client to resolve the remote host name, I solved that with a good config of my dns forwarder.

Regarding the hostname issue, it must be a general problem for Fedora 10? Because everytime I restart it, I get that error you mentioned "Cannot resolve hostname". So I have to manually restart the boinc service and then it works.

Or is it the 6.4.7 version of Boinc, that comes in the yum repos, that is the culprit? The other machines have no problems.

Check your etc/hosts file. There could be an issue with the order of hostnames (including "localhost" ).
