Hi Gurus,

I have many WinXP Workstation running BOINC. Now, I detected one machine without a service named BOINC. The result is, I must login and start the BOINC manager to running BOINC. On logout, the BOINC stopped (sure). A new installation was made and the result is the same. How can a install the service named BOINC?

THX for help and sorry for my bad english .

Best regards
Eschi

You'll have to choose the advanced way during installation. See How to install BOINC as a service (BOINC 6 series) on Windows? at the BOINC FAQ Service.

There's also an entry for BOINC v5.

The description is differ between the new installation and the upgrade on other machines.

I'm not sure, because I'm still with BOINC 5, but check your Messages tab for:
Code:
21/05/2009 16:22:26||Executing as a daemon
after restarting the client.
