This is a question probably better asked on the BOINC site but the response time is generally much quicker here: What is the latest version of BOINC for CPU only users. I see the latest "dual" version has been withdrawn and as long as I"m doing a version change, I may as well eliminate what I dont need. Also, if anyone knows of the most recent version that shows CPU time instead of elapsed time in the tasks screen of the manager would be helpful.

The withdraw was only necessary for GPU crunchers with a low memory GPU.

If the only reason to downgrade is not showing the cpu-time in stead of elapsed time:

1. By selecting a task you can click on the properties button under Tasks Commands on the left side.
- There you can see the cpu time, last checkpoint, used memory etc.

2. You could give BoincTasks a try.
- Then you can see both: cpu and elapsed directly and your machines in 1 view.

Downloaded and installed BOINC Tasks. Can I now safely remove the BOINC mgr. and if so how?

You don't need to delete it ( it's just a file of a few MiB ), but you should install BOINC in Protected Application Execution mode (aka service mode) so that you don't need the manager to start the client. It would then run even if nobody is logged in.

I have version 6.10.58 of BOINC manager, and my problem is I can't switch to the "simple view" version of it. I used to be able to, except for last few days. I am constantly in the advanced view, but I like the "simple views" because it allows me to quickly change preferences, especially when I go to bed, and want to increase what I can use on my computer.
I tried re-downloading it, but it just went to either repair or remove window. If I remove it, I will lose all my work so far, so that doesn't seem right or likely.
So, any ideas out there? Thank you.

That's not the case. Uninstalling only removes the program directory, not the data directory. So, if you make sure that the installer uses the same path to the data directory when re-installing, then nothing is lost.
