I had an old account with a sizeable amount of credits and after I bought a new laptop, I erroneously made a new account instead of using my old one. I know how to merge host computers within one account for projects but is there any way to merge two accounts??? (obviously they're different host computers as well...) I doubt there is a way but I'm asking just in case, I'd love to recover some old credits!

Thanks in advance!

You might be able to trick some of the points towards your current account if you previously crunched for more projects--that is, your old account contains projects that your new account does not. To do that, you'd just have to change your account information to match your current account. If they are truly two different accounts on the same project, you would have to take that up with the project's administrators. I've heard that it is theoretically possible, but have not head anyone successful at it. It could be quite an undertaking for the project staff if they are large and have a lot of users who want their accounts merged.

Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do from here at BOINCstats/BAM!, since all the stats data comes from the projects themselves.

thanks for the tips, I'll try to get in touch with some of the project admins and let you know if I make any progress.

If you can change the email addys on the projects you were on to be the same, they should all merge.

really... so if I change my old account's email to the same as the new one, the two accounts on that given project will merge? That's pretty handy! I'll try that later, I'm currently dealing with a split CPID problem after I changed a couple of old account emails last week.... I assume I just have to wait for everything to re-sync properly? I already click on the renew CPID but I have heard that doesn't help split CPIDs... I'll see if this fixes itself next week and I'll continue trying to recover old accounts after that.

*edit* ahh..... actually can't change email in account to be the same because it gives the "already exists" thing... oh well

Ok, some news on my split CPID problem (I'm just using this thread because I believe my initial attempts to join accounts caused this problem), over the past couple of days, my projects were split between two accounts on BAM, both sbear3737 and the projects were slowly transferring from my splinter account to the main one that I can log into. But today.... I checked my stats and NONE of my projects are now on my main account and all of them are on my splinter account. If I do an username search, only my splinter account shows up and not my main one. Should I be waiting until Sunday for the CPID to renew and for my main account's CPID to change into the splinter one and somehow merge????

Please advise
