I am a Platinum Partner (sizable donor and lifetime education receiver) at Singularity University (SU), founded in 2009 by Ray Kurzweil and Peter Diamandis, funded by Google among many forward thinking donors and founders, whose goal it is to explore and advance the technologies that will shape the future of mankind. We study exponential growth in key technologies and what it will mean for our future. Each SU graduate pledges to attempt to do something to improve the lives of a billion people over the next ten years. Participating in BOINC is just one of my many ventures to attempt to achieve this goal. I also participate in Folding@home at Stanford and encourage all the projects on BOINC and other platforms to convert their code to be CUDA compatible. As Nvida claims, it is 10-20 times more cost effective to use a GPU rather than a CPU for parallel processing.
I started a team called "Grand Challenges" and I hope you will join me in my efforts to speed up the cure of cancer, HIV/AIDS, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases through molecular dynamic simulations on GPUGRID.
